That guy that appears to be her husband showed incredible and great restraint to focus on her and not the crowd, where he was clearly outnumbered.

No excuse for that. But she did say that the kid she went after was taunting her young son because he was wearing Alabama gear. It reached the boiling point when he told her young son to come on down to him. As a parent and a recovering hot head, I may have felt the need to throttle that little college punk for threatening my kid. Mess with me all you want but threaten my wife and kids. ......stuff may go sideways quick.

So if her side is true there my be an excuse, maybe not the most sound or socially responsible one. But one I may understand a little bit more so than just a drunk fighting. ..

I am sorry guys.
There is just no excuse for that.
Name calling or taunting doesn't justify physically attacking anyone, never, ever.
You truly learn to understand that when you carry a loaded weapon on your waist.
I'll be the punk to turn away any day of the week.
Names don't hurt. Bubba in jail does.
If that guy presses charges, or any of them for that matter, she is in hot water, paying an attorney lots of money. That is plain dumb.
If they had physically assaulted her or her child, then hell yeah, all bets are off.

I was just stating that threatening my child would push my button if that was the case. As you can see from my second post, doesn't make it right or socially exceptable. I don't think I need to carry a gun to understand that. Just a different perspective. I had a guy call my wife a bi#$@ once and I snapped he didn't touch my wife but he crossed a line in my book. I am not a thug or person that likes to fight but are certain things that get my goat. Once again not justifying any violence.

Re: Is This How The Tide Rolls?

If some dude called my wife a b!tch, I would have to pull her off him first just so I could commence my own arse beating.

Honestly, though, you never know what the other person's state of mind is or their capabilities. Fighting is the last option in my mind. Lawsuits scare me more than any man's fists. Not being able to feed my family and losing everything we have because I decided to lay out a drunk is not being a protector in my mind. Most drunks can be disarmed without even slapping them.

Now if things go south and it gets physical, then of course I play to win.

Haha...... I agree whole heartedly. I have never been arrested or in a public altercation. "I play to win" love it and follow same mind set.

I sure didn't see any kid around. I think she was simply drunk and pissed and decided to vent her anger at someone who probably did taunt her/Alabama football. She could have hurt innocent by-standers with her wild kicking. She will be lucky if on one decides to get some money. After all, ours is a litigious society populated with ambulance chasers.

Re: Is This How The Tide Rolls?

I looked again at the clip . . . twice . . . and saw no children in that area (at least, none chronologically childlike). This does not mean there were none, of course. Still, it begs the question if her response was true, or instead her first step in a defense against assault charges. Furthermore, anyone who has attended any sort of public event such as this one in the past generation or two knows the likelihood of an encounter with behavior unsuitable for youngsters. It is a shame that games, concerts, movies, whatever have become "PG-13", yet it is also prudent for those who do not wish their kids to risk exposure to such to either leave the young at home, or stay at home altogether. Sad, certainly, but a fact of modern "classless" society.

Also, I'd like to know the tone of her statement. As I see it, there are three distinct ways such a statement can be made. One is as a reason, where she expresses contrition at her actions but gives the taunting as her motivation for said actions. The second is as an excuse, where she passes no judgement upon herself, and merely says she did it due to a provocation. The last defensive position is one of justification, where she affirms her right to violence by declaring "Damn right I did it, and I'd damn well do it again!".

Maybe I'm full of it . . . it wouldn't be the first time, after all . . . but I can't give her a pass on kicking some stranger in the head, whatever the core cause.
