This always happens to me!

Whenever I end up getting something new in a high price range a newer version is going to come out soon after, computers, software, phones, espresso machine . This may be what is to come and replace the Oscar.

New Oscar?

Old Oscar, My Oscar

Pete I know it's shiny but I do sooo like it, notice how the shinyness is angled downwards toward the shot and not into the eyeballs. :r

It's so very.... chromey....

You really should have it. No, really, you should. The voices in your head told me so.

I have to agree with the last post on the thread, it is definitely an improvement on the NS Oscar's previous looks, dispite the fact that the old one works great I'm sure.

Call me crazy, but I need something I'm messing with every day to look really nice.

I'm not impressed (unless that white edging is prototype camouflage). Right now it looks like it belongs in a 1950's stainless steel diner. Does seem like they have responded to the (superficial) greatest consumer complaint, not enough bling/buck.*

*all the uninformed opinion of someone who doesn't do expresso

You Crazy :D, I have cared more for what is under the hood whether it's cars, espresso machines, grinders, or women. If it can't get the job done then it doesn't matter how good it looks to me.

There is no other info I can find on it yet so my guess is it is a very early prototype and will have some refinement before it goes on sale. If it stays in the same price range as the Oscar it will take care of all those superficial people that spend $200-500 more just to get shiny and a hot water tap.

I spent more for shiny and later found out they threw in an E61 brewgroup and put the G-Rossi components under the hood.

I never really knew about HX machines and brewgroups weighing 15 pounds, but now am glad that they're on my counter.

Also, a quick wipe with windex on a cool machine keeps everything real shiny and nice.

The hotwater wand is ok for warming cups but basically useless.

At this point, it seems like a wortwhile extra 300 bucks from what I am guessing this machine costs, but that's what makes us all individuals I guess
