Thanks Mike I love them it was really easy and not expensive at all. $20.00 to the door and took about 15 mins to put them on. I will be buying these for more of my pistols

So if I'm going to have to buy something, might as well be useful.

I spent a bunch of time looking around and bang for buck seemed Sturdy Safe was pretty good and it supports a California business that manufactures the safes on site.

I went with the Model 3224 with the 4 AWG body upgrade. It was quite a bit cheaper last year but prices go up in CA faster then most places but 4 AWG steel safes at this price in the US are hard to find. No fire wall as you will see and that saved me a lot of money. I figure go home insurance if I get a fire as none of my weapons are collectibles.

Here is some pics:

I still need to plumb an outlet inside for a dehumidifier but using a large box of desiccant I picked up on Amazon right now as Sacramento is quite humid in the winter. Summer no big deal.

I have a sturdy myself and love it.

A good safe was likely the best gun-related purchase I ever made. Never had a break in at the house but have had strangers (contractors etc.) in my condo see the safe, perhaps took note it was bolted to the floor and thought better of coming back uninvited.

If you know it's there and you still attempt to rob the place….you got some balls. It's a 50/50 that you will live to see another day. :2

Wow, that thing is sweet.

Anyone have recommendations on lower kits? Looking to start buying the parts to build a new lower for my RRA varmint upper.

I was a Glock guy for a long time, switched all of my guns to M&P and never been happier, same reliability but the M&P shoots better for me, not as canted as the Glock.

I have to agree with Remo on this for me the natural aimpoint on a glock at 25 ft is about a foot high. Reliability is top notch though. Personally I went with the XDM but the M&P series is very hard to beat.

Cant go wrong with rock river. Both of my lowers are from SAA. Great builds easy price and same milspec quality you get from some of the higher end retailers.

My next build will be from an 80% lower and be fro the AR-10

Those are nice. Only a little bit bigger than the same gun in 9mm/.40. Can't really say that about the Glocks, frame sizes vary enough between 9mm and the .45 acp to notice at a quick glance.

Different strokes for different folks though.

Went to an indoor range nearby and shot for about an hour. On the way out I decided to do a little window shopping. In the used section they had a Dan Wesson 741 .41 Mag, blued, two sets of grips (one are the DW wooden ones),a case and it has a ten inch barrel. When he said $575 I looked around for a camera because I thought I was getting punked. Can't wait to shoot this pig.

Just picked up m&p shield 9mm for concealed purpose. Liked the way it shot better than the xps or glock 43. Got a great deal at the px for $303 out the door. Glock would of been $420 out the door for blue label purchase if anybody was wondering. Now if only I could find cheap good 9mm ammo in bulk.

Plenty of sites have 9mm in bulk, around $.21/rd.

Check out, ammoseek.com, lucky gunner, natchezs, bulk ammo.

Ordered my first fun wheel gun and need opinions on red dot sights. What do you have and why do you like or dislike it? Right now I'm leaning towards a vortex solely on the fact that their warranty is so great.

Re: Second Firearm Thread...

I have seen the urban carry and am not a fan. I know they say that the draw is fast, but I have my reservations vs a regular holster. I also don't like the fact that the draw (no matter who fast) requires 2 hands. You might find yourself in a scenario where you are using your weak hand to create distance between you and an attacker while drawing with your strong hand. I have a tendency to stick with a traditional holster design and avoid all of the "latest and greatest". Take the time, do the research and order a good holster the first time out (with a good gunbelt).

I can't speak for their handgun sights, but I have a vortex on my AR and it is a great sight that didn't break the bank. Made in the US and lifetime warranty, even if you break it! What's not to like?

My EDC is a commander 1911. I also have a Glock 22, but the 1911 carries and conceals better for me.

For the first time in years I walked into a store today (Bass Pro) and bought .22lr ammo. No limits, no crazy prices, no random brands in little ziploc bags with no names. Just a bulk box of 325 Federal.

It may be different where you're at, but in Michigan, it's been a long time since I've been able to do that and not pay $1 a round.

Ammo has been getting better in Pa that is for sure. 22 Lr is around and 9mm has come down in price. .380 is still up there but its getting better.

I know right! Earlier this week I stopped in at a Dunhams and they had hundreds of thousands of 22 rounds. I was able to grab a brick of thunderbolts and a hundred round count of shorts for a normal price. Don't get me wrong though, we have a shop up the road that has plenty but you're going to pay nine bucks for a pack of fifty. :sl
