Have unused MyCokeReward pts? Hugh & I can get troops stuff with them.
 

You know those MyCokeReward points codes you find under every Coca-Cola company soda product cap, on the inside of every box tear flap and under some flat cases for water and juices? You know, the one's you've probably just been throwing away?

Let Hugh and I turn these into free magazine subscriptions for the troops.

Basically - here's how it works:

• PM me with the code(s), please do not post them publicly. It doesn't matter if you only have one code at that moment or 100, or their value.
• I'll enter all the codes as they come in.
• When I get enough points to order a subscription, I'll redeem them for a free subscription code.
• I order the free subscription under Hugh's name with his address.
• The magazines come right to Hugh and he packs them with the cigars into the troop boxes.

Simple!

Where to find codes:

• Under caps

All of the codes I've seen are 12 or 14 character, two or three line, dot-matrix printed.

How this all came about...

Awhile back Hugh ("hotreds") posted that he is always looking for magazines to send with the cigars to the troops, which kind of stuck in the back of my mind until the other day when it hit me that the Coca-Cola "MyCokeRewards" program has a number of magazines available as rewards.

So I talked to Hugh about if he would mind having some magazine subscriptions placed in his name and delivered directly to him and since he was all for it, I took all of my points (not many as I don't typically drink soda) plus a big stack of 12-pack codes from Ratters and redeemed them for a couple of magazine subscriptions.

Realizing that probably 70% of my codes were "scrounged" and Steve's (Ratters) codes were all lying in a pile of discarded soda boxes, I thought there might be some other S/BOTLs who were just ignoring / discarding these codes and that maybe I could combine all of these unwanted points and get Hugh some magazine subscriptions for the troops.

Unfortunately no, there is no function for that in the program.

The only thing I can think of as a workaround for this would be that if you were willing to, I could forward some codes that I receive to you and when your account hits somewhere in the 130-180 points range for the subscriptions, you redeem the points for a subscription and fill it out in Hugh's name and address.

I know that kind of defeats the purpose of me making this as easy on everyone as possible, but at least it still pools the points for the subscriptions.

If you forward codes on to Vin, then it is transparent to everyone else. All codes still get sent to you. I think it all depends on how many points Vin already has. If he has, say, less than 50 it may not be worth it. But if he has over 100, it is certainly worthwhile.

That is very true Peter. The last sentence of my post should have been written directly to Vin as it was intended. As for the code balances and when it becomes worthwhile, I agree and I already had numbers in my mind, but my plan was to save that discussion for PMs.

Yeah, even stuff like FHM and Maxxim are off-limits, if not only for the country regulations, but also for the fact that Hugh stated that these magazines often end up in the hands of the Chaplains for distribution or storage and we don't want to put them in an awkward position. Those types of magazines aren't even offered under the coke rewards program anyway though. I think the raciest magazine offered is "Fitness" and it's associated people jogging/working out in swimwear or sports tops photos.

Received some additional codes from Peter (pnoon). Also received some codes from Kevin (loki) and Garry (yakman) the other day that are generating errors that they shouldn't be and are being looked into.

Thanks gentlemen, and, don't get put off by the MCR database weirdness the other day, we almost have enough to pick up another subscription - about 20 to 50 more points, depending on how "expensive" a subscription it is.

Just wanted to say that you guys rock. I received so many codes (points) last week that I maxed out on the number of points I could accrue for one week and had to hold them over until just now, and, after entering all of them, I'm 2/3 of the way to maxing out this week. :tu
