Shipping Butane Bottles?

So i'm putting toghter a bomb for my buddy in Kandahar Afghanistan and I was wounding if butane bottles and cutters would be a problem getting over there and getting in there?

Seems like you would not be able to ship butane bottles -- the customs forms required to ship to military bases prohibit anything explosive. The cutters should be no problem...

You say you're shipping a bomb so a butane bottle would be appropriate.:D

:tpd: Shipping butane by air is definitely a no-no. Even in the US, vendors ship only by ground.

It could also get the recipient in some hot water with his superiors. :2

Can you send matches or 6-10 Ronsons filled with butane? Or is that a no-no as well...

You could always do what I do with switchblades, I put them in a larger container and bubble wrap it then duct tape the piss out of it. No one wants to spend the few minutes to attempt to get it open. However whoever you are sending it to just knows to take a knife and slit the thing open.

I was not trying to say that it cannot or is not done. Just pointing out that the customs forms required by the military disallow it...

It's illegal to purchase cuban cigars too...

I would kinda hope the military would take the time!

I'm fairly certain that the military owns knives and are not afraid to use them. I know from experience that customs and the postal service own them and seem to relish their use.

Well think about all the packages in the world.....some people are lazy. I'm sure the military isn't but I've mailed knives that shouldn't be mailed and every time it works. So maybe? Also several people mention its ok anyways....so meh why not give it a shot.
