Woohoo. Congrats! I know what you mean. Unfortunately our burr grinder burr-ned up (ha ha) in the house fire. Couldn't bring myself to buy a blade grinder so we've just gone back to buying coffee pre-ground. I really do miss the days of roasting our own coffee and grinding right before brewing. I had a Breville grinder.

Enjoy your brew!

What model is that? My Macap is only is only used for espresso and my wife uses on old Krupps for her drip and it's nearing the end. Looks a lot like the Cuisinart.

That's the downside to a stepless grinder; adjustments from espresso to drip are a hassle.

Yes - it is the Cuisinart, DBM-8 http://www.cuisinart.com/products/coffee_bar/dbm-8.html

I believe it's a bit cheaper than your macap, but it does have an adjustable grind :tu

That cuisinart grinder is on overstock.com right now for 36.99. But it is refurbished. I may have to pick it up. I've been using preground too. Just not the same.

I've got the same one. It works pretty well, though it's quite loud, and doesn't grind quite fine enough for some espresso. I've modded it by shaving off the stop, so that it can co just a bit finer, which is perfect for my espresso maker(a cheap delonghi).

I, also, own a cheap delonghi espresso/coffee maker. While it's not the greatest, it serves it's purpose just fine for now. I believe I bought it at Target when it went on sale for like 80 bucks or something.
