El Triundafor Lancero

OK, here's a review I posted at another board earlier today.

Had one of these last night.

The cigar itself was dark, with a seeminly oily wrapper. Just looking at it made my mouth water. Easy cut, and the prelite draw was perfect. The flavors were very promising, as well.

The cigar lit easily, with a nice start. At first, the flavor was muted, rather soft. It was a tad bit leathery with some richness, but I did not notice a huge amount flavor for the first third of it, but I knew I liked what I was getting.

Somewhere between the 1/3 and 1/2 way point, the flavor changed. It got very rich with some coffee and cocoa, earthy flavors. This kep up for me for the rest of the cigar.

It wasn't overly strong, but I felt it gained strength throughout the length of it.

I needed to correct the burn a couple times, as I was paying more attention to the conversation and it almost went out. LOL

My final score: MORE PLEASE! I really liked it, and definitely want to get my hands on some more (but not necessarily at MN prices).

Yes, these are fantastic. Make sure they are on the dry side for the full-effect.

I should have another box of these in my humidor tomorrow after the Pete Johnson event in Irving. I agree, these are really good regardless of the young age.

I don't know what to think about this cigar yet. The first one I had was so plugged that I had to pitch it after 10 minutes, but the flavors that I got out of it were fantastic. The second one that I had drew slightly tight but smokeable, but the flavors weren't as good as the first one. I'm hoping that the third time will be the charm with this cigar and I'll enjoy it quite a bit. If not, keep your eyes peeled for a box of these in the WTS thread. :)

Nice review by the way.

I smoked one of these ROTT and I agree with your review(nice review BTW).
The only problem I had was the first half had a VERY tight draw, then it loosened up and I nubbed it to a finger burn!!! Great smoke with some great flavors and not so much the typical Pete Johnson strength. I believe dry boxing is the way to go with these.

Thanks for the reviews. Have a few in the Humi drying out as they PJ stuff always seems to ship very wet and I figured the small ring guage would make it even worse. 65% for a few weeks or dry box em?

I love coffee/cocoa flavors in a cigar, my favorites. I'll keep an eye out for these.

A fine smoke that shows a lot of promise. Deep licorice flavor, nice refreshing tobacco flavor.

Just had another one today, and felt like revisiting this. Once again, I come away from this one highly impressed. I wasn't paying attention to the flavors this time, but still loved it. Nice and rich.

For a cigar of this size, it smoked fairly quickly ~45-50 min. I nubbed this one and literally was burning my fingers when I dropped the micro-butt into the ashtray. :-D Me likey.

I smoked one of these a couple of weeks ago with Mean Darrell and it seemed a little blan to me. Maybe it needed some rest.

Box arrived last week. I've had about a fiver so far (from box and local retailer). Bottom line....my favorite stick at the moment. Flavors....too many to sort out. Dark, woodsy, cocoa, nuts. In sum, I get just about everything but leather, LOL. Just a wonderful, interesting smoke. It does get stronger as I smoke it down and perhaps near the end just a bit harsh....but I love the ride.
