Apppleton Estate Exclusive

Couldn't think of a better crowd to share this with. Just got back from my (correction OUR) honeymoon in Jamaica , went to Appleton estate which was a brilliant tour. So I picked up a bottle of the estate exclusive , which is available only at the distillery. $250USD/Bottle

Anyways its my new favorite rum , and I have been drinking rum far longer than I have been drinking scotch. Fantastic stuff , complex , smooth and sweet.

I saw it written somewhere that it was non chill filtered and no coloring was added. At 45% ABV I am on board with that.

The distillery itself was pretty cool , I work with a ton of the same equipment at my job. Only thing I don't use is the stills themselves. Appleton has 4 fairly short fat stills , very neat.

The warehouse with all the barrels was super cool too. They actually use tiny barrels compared to what the scotch guys use. 40galleons compared too the max size of 185 gallons in the scotch world (although you do see smaller casks used in stuff like Laphroiags quarter cask).

Smaller casks are always a better option imo. Better wood/spirit ratio.

That doesn't count, Admiral.
We can still tease you about it, but officially it's off the record.

A couple of fingers wood spirit ratio Colin's couch.

Too many jokes, too little time.
