House blends....

Has anyone ever tried and house blends that were actually good and you would buy again?

I have been watching some bidding sites and have noticed that these house blends can be had for pretty cheap which leads me to believe they are crappy cigars.

Just wondering if anyone has found any diamonds in the rough out there.

Famous has some good choices of house blends, the Nic3000 is good and the Nic5000 is really good. For the price, they are hard to beat. Their Nic Maduro is pretty good too. I have purchased several bundles of these.

Well I was curious as to any online house blends such as thompson or CI.

The ones in particular I have been watching are on cigar sprint.

Never had any of the Nic series from Famous. From my understanding the Iron Horse is a house blend, of sorts from Famous, too. They're actually not bad at all!

Shane, I don't think they are bad, but I have only had one the 554, here is the site.

None of the CI Legends are terrible. None are as good as mainlines from their blenders; and some need some down time to smooth out. But for what they are - $2 cigars from blenders in the business willing to put their names on them - they aren't bad. You won't mistkake any for an $8 cigar, but none will gag you or give you fits because of construction.

I usually have some Nestor (Maroon) buried in a time capsule - they're pretty good after 9-12 months nap. Folks who like Perdomo maduros usually have good things to say about the Reds. Purple (Graycliff) and Yello (Pepin) aren't too shabby. My girlfriend is a big fan of the (Drew-infused) Copper. I tend to steer clear of the white, blue, green and orange labels - but there are those that seem to like each.

As to the boutiques, in the purest sense of the word, I strongly second the LLanos dos Palma recommendation.

Agreed, the Yellow are not bad! The Copper are infused, I stay clear of them but they did get me into cigars.

I have wondered the same.. I have never wanted to end up with a bundle I didn't like so I never ordered them.

Some good tips on which to try though. Thanks.
