RE: M&P Shield.....

I am thinking of selling my LCP to fund the purchase of a Shield. Still on the fence about it.

Have you shot the shield? I would certainly do that before making the switch.

I am a M&P crazy and I would recommend taking a look at the M&P9c or M&P40c which is the compact version of the M&P full size. I had a 9 shield and love it but I wanted a little more gun. And it is simple a little more. Either way a move to the M&P series I think is a big move up. The feel, performance and ease of use, disassemble etc is outstanding

Re: First Firearms II

I went the opposite, went from the compact to the shield, easier to carry thanks to the single stack, loved the compact was just to bulky for me to carry, like a Glock 26

I have an SW99 for full size, Glock 26 for compact. Looking to replace the LCP with a subcompact 9mm.

When I was a cop I always carried Glock. Decided on a S&W M&P .45 Subcompact for the wife and she loves it. I was also impressed with it after shooting it. Definitely a fan of S&W now. We ended up also getting a Springfield Arms XDS 9mm for something even smaller. It is ok but I think we may look at a Shield. May just keep this 9mm and get the .40 Shield.

Ordered some new glass last week and if Im lucky it will arrive wednesday before we have a day at the range.

Anyone who reloads ever try drilling out the primer pocket flash hole on the military brass that has the two offset flash holes? I'm burning through a bunch of 7.62 from south Africa to break in an AR10 and they have the berdan primers. Maybe it only has a single?

The shield is twice as heavy, too. You're probably talking about the LC9, though.
I only mention it because I have the LCP for my ankle.

Not even what I was gonna say...
My buddy had a laser/light combo he wanted rid of, and it looked like it'd fit on Weeze's Walther P22.
I brought it home, and sure enough. Works great.
I only paid 40 bucks for it, so nothing lost. I'll get a few more bucks for the gun when I trade it for her.
That Walther had paperwork that said it originally had the stock Walther laser on it, and the tools are in the box, but the laser wasn't on the gun when I bought it. Go figure.

The rail on that gun isn't very sturdy, but I figure that's better. It might take up some of the shock and I won't have to readjust that laser every time she shoots.

I showed it to her when I came home and she was nonplussed. She doesn't really have the gun gene.
I told her "BUT IT'S TACTICAL!!!" and hit the dirt and did a couple rolls.
Then she liked it better. :lr

Berdan vs Boxer
I looked this up once and remember reading it is possible.

If you are going to pocket carry keep the pip.
If you are going to holster carry get the shield.
Bigger round, better trigger, REAL sights.

I'm keeping it. The price on these has really tanked around here. Palmetto State Armory has them for $240. I'll just keep it for that. Maybe find a holster to put it on the bike for long rides to shoot at loose dogs.
