601 Serie Blue Box-Press Maduro Review

$5. - $9.
5.5" x 56
Wrapper: Habano Maduro
Origin: Nicaragua
http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/pictur...pictureid=8003

Prelight: Earth, ammonia

1st 1/3
Mild pepper, cocoa, some sweetness and leather mixed together and BBQ and spice.

Going sweeter and creamer with the leather, spice and cocoa notes pronounced after about 10 min, burn slightly wonky

Got to slow down on this girl or may make her go bitter, she's so good. :dr

2nd 1/3
Earthy sweetness, cocoa creaminess, pepper, leather and spice building.

Natural sweetness of the Habano Maduro wrapper keeps the stick sweet to the lips.

That BBQ note continues in the background, burn still off
Turning to it's full strength status now with a slight head buzz coming on

Final 1/3
Mostly pepper and spice, with a bit of earth, cocoa/coffee sweetness.
Burn finally self corrected, stayed cool all the way down.

I definitely wouldn’t pay retail price for this stick but can be had for $4 if you search for it on a budget.
A cigar that compares to it would be the Ramon Bueso Genesis The Project that I would buy a box of before the 601 Blue

Smoke time: 1 hr
Score 7.5 out of 10

Great review Daniel! I LOVE this stick. I know a lot prefer the green label, but for my money the blue is the clear winner. And you're right, I've seen some crazy good prices on the 601 series lately. They've been popping up on the Monster fairly regularly.

What's the Green character like if you know?
Thanks

I need to let the ones I have rest more with the need for them to flavor-up

Only had them a week and found myself wanting more from them but I can tell they will be a prize in 45 days or more

That may actually break the Internet.

601 is an amazing smoke. Bought a couple of boxes on sale a few months back. Get better every day...

Going to have to check this one, outlaw quick question for you? Do you get any palette fatigue from doing this many reviews of different flavors?

My wife gets fatigued from watching me stick the foot of a cigar in my nostril before writing a new review, she's a real trooper :D
