Haven't touch my pipes much since I moved back in January, but I pulled them all out and made up for it with a vengeance today. Had bowls of LGF, an unmarked mystery jar with a few bowls of a curly cut that I believe was Three Nuns or Heinrichs Curly Cut and a bowl of a private blend that is described as "Made of the finest Red and Bright Virginias, a pinch of extraordinary Izmir Oriental leaf for spice, pressed and cut into flakes, with a hint of Burley to shut that one guy up". They were in a Tinsky apple, a Stanwell 191 bulldog and a Tsuge brandy respectively.

G&H Westmoreland in my nording.

This is a mild blend, with thick smoke which leaves a syrupy coating on the palate. The flavor is of mild tonquin (sort of a mix of vanilla and slight cinnamon) and subtle latakia which gives a slight spice through the nose.

Room aroma is that of a sugar cookie. I am on the fence about whether or not I like this tobacco. Its almost too mild for my taste.

Let's see, last night I smoked a bowl of Scottish Whiskey in my MM Country Gentleman cob. Before that, the last few nights, it was Christmas Cheer 05.

I can't wait to get my new (to me) pipes and get smoking.

Last night I tried both of my latest purchases, 1st Ashton Artisan's Blend and 2nd Holt's house blend "Jerry's Creed". Both are English blends and were very good, albeit a little mild but I am chalking that up to the spicy bbq chicken I made for dinner.

Re: Whats in your bowl?

Just finished a bowl of Old Gowrie. I really enjoy Virginia leaf, and this was no exception, although I did find it to be on the mild side. I noticed that it didn't have the bite that I expect from Virginias, and I don't know how much Perique is in this blend but I didn't really pick it up.

Chelsea Morning. This blend has really grown on me. Smoking it in my tsuge which I had originally attempt to use for VA blends, but I found that english blends are shining in it.
