More Free Tobaccos from Sterling and Tobacco Trader

I didn't see these in the forum, so I thought I'd throw them out there.

Sterling lets you ask for a sample of any one of their two dozen (or so) blends! Samples run around 2oz, and they've been throwing in 2oz of their "Bargain Blend" as well (which is apparently whatever's left over at the end of the day. Like the prize in the Cracker Jack box, some will be happy with it, some won't). I've been smoking the 1776 Tavern blend and, for fans of English and Latakia, this is a great blend...kind of like EMP, but spicier.

Tobacco Trader is offering a 1 oz sample of their flagship blend, 'Savannah'. It is a blend of two different Cavendish and "condimental" tobaccos. You have to call (toll free), but the receptionist who answered was funny and sounded tres cute. :)

Just wanted to add for those of you who haven't sent for these (and why in the world haven't you?!?), I can not stop smelling the bag of 1776 Tavern, and it's become one of my go-to smokes. Great, full bodied English with loads of Latakia.

I also got the Savannah in a few days ago, and have had a couple of bowls. It's got a predominant vanilla aroma with a bit of choclate as well and, despite how that sounds (I want to smoke, not eat dessert) it's actually very good. Easily the best aromatic I've tried, and I'm not usually a fan of aros.

I talked to the lady at Tobacco Trader and we're good to go. The other site says I have to send my info to them first so that will wait a while. I've never tried a pipe before so all I need to do now is get a pipe and I should be good to go!

That Savannah is some good stuff. I loved the sample they sent me. Which was about an ounce. I liked it so much I order a few ounces. Deffintly worth the call.

Bumping this up for some of the other pipe newbies, Sterling still offers the free samples, I got mine in this week, I went with the Double Eagle, and they still throw in the "bargain blend" as well. :pi

I received some samples from this a few weeks back. I can't remember which blend as I am not at home but it was a pretty good tobacco. I liked it.
