I have a love hate relationship with these types of games.

Played this one because someone posted it on another forum. I got through it all, but a couple of the levels nearly gave me fits.

Used to enjoy The Incredible Machine and Lemmings too.

:tpd: . . . :ss

Been playing this damn game in my free time since the link was posted. I think I can now take the prize on the ugliest contraption built yet. Everything up to this point has been pretty cool - but this is just ugly:

Down Under Ugly

Ugly but it worked - :D

Actually this little game has been fun. Might even have to pay for the registered version - :D

If you haven't tried it - you really should. Some thought and a lot of trial and error - but I found it all pretty relaxing (when not cussing - LOL)

Made it through all the stages - here is the last contraption:

U-Turn

If you are looking at these - use the blue + and - buttons to zoom out to see the whole scene.

I think I made something that rode up over the ball that's in the way and came in from behind pushing the ball out of the way.
There is a discussion board where people show their different solutions.

Hey Ron,

Those were some neat solutions you posted. Some of mine were pretty ugly too.

How did you solve the tube?

This is a wicked sweet physics game.
Kerri and I had a blast with it. The graphics are excellent and it's got a lot of geek humor going on. You need quite a bit of machine to play it, so make sure to check specs.

Ah HAh!!!
There's a demo right here. Load it up and check it out. :tu

I tried several ways - one was like an inverted "V" with a center counter weight that would start to work but then lose traction, tumbled and fall down. Took awhile on this final solution getting the angle just right and the length of the stick in the middle. Right side has to be lower than the left to force it tight against the wall.

Tube Walk

I tried to make wedges, dozers, ramps, etc - everything - but really you need to beat the ball there. I didn't save that one (don't know why) but basically just took some wheels (like five or six to balance the stick) - put a big ass stick on top (just lays there) and then the pink thing on it at the leading edge. As it starts the wheels shove the stick forward ahead of it. Pink thing will just barely beat the ball there.

Re: Fantastic Contraption

Wow, your tube walk solution was much simpler than mine. I used a stick on the bottom lip to hold my rig up while it got ready, used a couple of sets of wheels on each side with a wheel and rods attached in the middle to force the side wheels into contact.

It was a bit of a mess, took a while to fine tune but worked in the end.

Sometimes the KISS solution is the best - :D

Sounds like yours is what I was trying early on. Actually what I used HERE in the U-turn was from one of the first designs for the tube.

Fun little game - wished I had saved all of them.

Is that the one with a ramp to go up and about 40 stupid balls on it?

The balls fall down. You may be describing a later one. I'm only on the 12th level.
