New Coffee Maker

After some research I just placed an order for a Technivorm Moccamaster with the stainless thermos. My daily coffee maker died and I had some cash from Christmas and didn't want to over think this and drag it on forever. I have wanted one of these babies for awhile and took the plunge yesterday. Can't wait!

Congratulations on achieving a dream. Hope it serves you well for many years.

Me, I plan to wash my old-school non-electric Asian-made percolator one of these days. :D

I have an old-school GE percolator but I'm looking at a BUNN single brew unit that handles ground coffee, loose tea, K-cups, pouches and tea-bags.

I've Had One For 2 Months, Steve. Works Great After You Find The Right Combination Of Grind & Amount Of Coffee Per Pot. From All The Info I've Read, It Works Much Better To Make A Full Pot Each Time & Pour Out What You Don't Use.:tu

I've had this coffee maker for a couple of weeks and it is impressive. I can't say that I have found it's absolute sweet spot yet. Very good coffee for sure and no regrets. Just haven't found the combination of grind and coffee that is as good as any I've had. For example, I have a Capresso grinder and have tried multiple grind levels; best so far for a full pot has been between 5-6 on the grinder scale with a pretty full basket of coffee suing the gold filter. It's very good, but I'd like it a bit stronger. Any recommendations on different levels to try for a fuller, bolder brew?

Steve: I Use A Baratza Encore Grinder @ #20 Setting Most of the time. I Prefer A weaker Cup So I Use 1Tablespoon/6Oz.Water. Most Of The "Experts" Recommend 2 Tablespoons/6Oz. 1 Tablespoon=37Gm. Of Coffee, So You Can Go From There.

Here's A Chart That Helped Me. http://www.blackbearcoffee.com/resources/83

I Usually Put In 37Gm Of Coffee Total For A Full Pot Of Dark French Roast Gevalia & Just Made A Perfect Pot With 41GM Of "Heart" Coffee. Great Roasters, BTW!
