Which Keurig to get?

I just went thru all 9 pages here and didn't find anything, so here goes.

My wife and I are in the market to get a Keurig coffee maker. She does travel some and it seems to be a waste to make a whole pot when in the morning when she is gone since at least half get spilled out :td.

So I am asking for recommendations on which Keurig I should get? There seems to be about 7 different home models.

Please help me decide!! :tu

It appears that I will have fun trying out all the different varieties of coffee, but just want to make sure I get the right one.

So suggest away!!!

Thanks in advance for all your help! :tu

My wife bought the Elite and is happy with it. I have not used it, I just make less in the old drip or french press.

Just picked up the Platinum yesterday. Seems to work fine. It was at Costco and kind of an impulse buy. Did no real research so probably no help other than I like it so far. Fires out a good cup of coffee in about 20 seconds with no cleanup.

These are the three that I have used.

http://www.keurig.com/brewers/b3000se
- This one is best if you are planning on hooking up to a water supply, that is how it works. We had this in my last office building and it was AWESOME.

http://www.keurig.com/brewers/platinum-brewing-system
- My parents have this one, It has a reservoir you have to fill up, and allows you to select the amount of water you want to use.

http://www.keurig.com/brewers/deskpr...brewing_system
- This is the one that is currently in my housing unit. It is the most simple, you fill your desired cup with with fresh water, pour it in the reservoir, and it makes that exact about of coffee. It is great for regular mugs and travel mugs.

I hope this helps you select the one that best works for you and your wife.

This one.

is the one I have, and I love it. it doesn't store water in the unit but it has a lot less buttons and is pretty easy to operate.

Eric, I have the Platinum.
It's the way to go.
I also have a Mini I keep on my desk at work, but wouldn't recommend it for home use if you drink a lot of coffee.
If you drink only one cup in the morning you could get away with the mini.
I've also had the Special edition and Elite and really think the Platinum is worth the extra cash.

Does it have the Tom Brady good housekeeping seal of approval?:D

Honestly they have one in the office, I'm not sure the model but it came with the additional filter that let's you use your own ground coffee.

We all know I'm a coffee snob, but using that in a pinch with fresh ground coffee isn't that bad and much better than the pods which can be a little stale tasting.

No Brady seal of approval but my lawyer was over one day and choked to death on the coffee so it's not all bad.:D

Re: Which Keurig to get?

IMO, get one with multiple cup sizes. I hate having to put water in mine so the bigger the reservoir the better.

Make sure you register it online. Mine failed and they replaced it no questions asked and sent a 12 pack sampler.

were on are forth replacement in under 2 years. Depending on your water quality consider a Britta type water filter pitcher used to fill up the keurig seemed to help keep are last one running the longest until yesterday when it simply would not turn on. Also descale it as recommended by keurig and you should be good to go.

Re: Which Keurig to get?

So Eric, did you ever pick up the B70? If so, any thoughts on it?

My wife wants me to pick one of these up, but reading through all the Keurig reviews, I'm a little doubtful about them. Seems like an awful lot of people are having them break after a few months. Likewise, there are bad reviews on the Cuisinarts.

Anyone have one that's lasted any length of time? Any brands that are stand out?

I've used the high end LavAzzas before and they're nice, but that's way overboard for what we need and I don't want to get involved with proprietary stuff. Wife wants to make teas, and it might be nice if I want a quick cup of coffee and don't want to grind and brew my usual full pot.

I just don't want to waste the time and $$ on something that's going to end up being a source of irritation. Any advice out there?

So far so good!!! :tu

Seems to work just as advertised and makes a pretty good cup of coffee depending which k-cup you use as some are better than others.

And I did get the Platinum (B70).

We had one problem Bill and I believe it was beyond the warranty.
They had us send it back and they sent a new one.It brews a pretty good cup,we all use it,though not exclusively.
