Heading to Seattle

I will be heading to Seattle on September 27-29. The 28th, going to the A's/Mariners game.

A recommendations on hotels in the downtown area? Cigar lounges to check out? Anything to do, must see?

Not from the area but stayed at the downtown Hyatt and was a really nice property.

The fish market is a must.
Anywhere serving salmon is a must - like no salmon I had ever tasted. In fact, hooked on King and Sock Eye since then.
The space needle.
If you like wine, a short trip to Chateu St. Michelle.

If you're in to music, the EMP is right by the Space Needle. The Experience Music Project is a modern musical (mostly rock and roll) museum, and it's easily worth setting aside a few hours for. Interactive music labs where you can mess with all kinds of instruments, music memorabilia worn/played on stage by Michael Jackson, Elvis, Nirvana, etc. and traveling exhibits focusing on bands like The Beatles, AC/DC, etc. It's well worth the trip if you love music. If you want a dinner show, Teatro Zinzanni is an awesome experience. Imagine Cirque de Soleil but with a little more comedy, and crowd interaction. It was a very good 4-5 course meal with a live show, and lasted almost 3 hours. I want to say I payed around $200 for myself and my wife, but I promise it was worth every penny. 2 years later, and I still hear about that date on a regular basis.

As far as I know, the only cigar lounges in Wa are on tribal land, down in the Tacoma area.

I'll post again if I think of anything else. There's so much to do, you can't go wrong.

Be sure to allow a little extra time before the games to visit the Pyramid across the street. Party like atmosphere in the parking lot there, great beer and you can have a cigar before the game.

Huge fan of salumi(check the hours...they are strange) but they have the best salami I have ever had as well as an amazing meatball sandwich!
Also the Whale and the Carpenter has amazing seafood! Go there for sure

+1 to the "Salumi" and "The Whale and the Carpenter" recommendations. Salumi does have weird hours, last time I checked they were only open for lunch during the week.

Definitely check out Pike Place Market. There are tons of cool places to get food and snacks there. Some of my favorites are: Piroshky Piroshky Bakery, Mee Sum Pastry - I like the BBQ Pork Hum Bao, Pike Place Chowder - Good clam and seafood chowder, Bleechers Cheese - Mac'n'Cheese or a Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Seatown Seabar is close to the Market, but not in it - great breakfast sandwich called the "three little pigs"

I'm not sure about cigar lounges in the area. I'd be curious to find out if there are any good ones because I go up there from time to time and it would be nice to have a solid spot to hang out and smoke.

If your driving up stop here.

If your flying in its 30 min south of sea tac airport. It's in a non descript casino/bingo place.
First time I went I drove past it 3 times. It is one of the nicest cigar lounge in USA IMO.

I went to Teatro ZinZanni last weekend. What a trip. It's like being in a dream but awake.

Kirkland is nice and here is an event going on during your visit.

That's the lounge I was thinking of. AWESOME place to hang out for a smoke. Inside BJ's Bingo, and right next to a Chinese restaurant called, I think, "The Poodle Dog."

South of the Poodle Dog by about 3/4 of a mile, same side of the street(west side).

Definitely judge this book by it's cover. I was very impressed when I went. And I believe they have a taco buffet once a week, or something like that...

Getting close to my trip. I have added that Friday night, going to the ball game. My wife wanted to. I figured she would want to explorer a bit. Nope, she wants to make it a full on baseball weekend.
