Arganese Connecticut Review

After making myself comfortable in my chair I started paying attention to the cigar. The wrapper was light tan in appearance and quite smooth despite that it was easy to visually follow the veins through the wrapper. I also noticed that the cap on this cigar was constructed beautifully which in turn added to this cigar’s desirably. The aroma of the wrapper was of the barnyard variety but with a touch of hay as well. The foot on the other hand had a darker, earthier smell. The pinch test showed that this cigar was firm and packed tightly, no soft spots in the body.

I used my Palio to give it a straight cut. Of course I then had to take a pre-light draw. The draw was very comfortable with a good taste of tobacco. After drawing, I noticed that my lips now had a bitter taste that was left behind from the cigar.

After a peppery start, the cigar became more smooth and pleasant through the nose. I was getting notes of cereal and the finish had a tanginess that lingered on the back of my tongue. Shortly thereafter, the taste of pepper had resurfaced which made me take notice because this cigar tasted like a Connecticut wrapped cigar but it had some body and a lot of flavor. This is a well blended cigar!

As I was about to enter the 2/3 portion of the cigar, I went to tip the ash. The ash was very firm and held up well. It had a medium gray color to it and reminded of of the color and texture the outside of a paper wasp’s nest. The smoke produced from this modest cigar was voluminous and dense. The clouds of blue smoke coming off of the cigar was a real joy to have.

I am now well into the 2/3 of the cigar and still very much enjoying it. The flavors remain the same but now its just a tad more spicy. After tipped the ash once again I notice just how peppery this smoke is without ash and with a built up ash, it is quite smooth. I like this character of the cigar. Unfortunately after the last tipping, the burn started to become uneven but I suspected that the burn would correct itself.

Going into the final third of the cigar it was now time to take the band off. When I removed the band, it was partially glued to the wrapper and it ripped a sizable hole in it. This really was annoying to have happen. Fortunately the taste of the cigar was still enjoyable and I was happy to continue smoking. The uneven burn that I thought would of corrected itself wasn’t and it was now canoeing so I took my lighter and corrected it myself. When I reached the portion of ripped wrapper, the burn had to be corrected once more.

I was able to finish off this cigar by nubbing it. It stayed cool to the touch and the smoke was starting to warm up but wasn’t anything unbearable. One last positive characteristic of this cigar is that it was good till the very end and didn’t become harsh and bitter like what you find at the end of most Connecticut cigars.

My final verdic of this cigar is a 4 out of 5 - excellent.

The full review with a lot of pics (sorry I went trigger happy with my camera) is located here.

The review is great, but the pics are really amazing. They are great quality and I feel like they added something to the review, especially the smoke coming out the head and the torn wrapper.

Thanks! I have a Cannon powershot pos so I end up taking a lot of pics in hopes of getting some good shots. This cigar just so happened to be very photogenic (I have 25 pics total for this review)!
