Kenya Grand Cru

Since there's no commercial roast section (or I can't yet see one) I figured I'd toss my experience here.

I've become a fan of stopping by Whole Foods and watching the beans go round the roaster and sniffing the bins and deciding what I like, which seems to be the Guatamalan Antigua.

The guy behind the counter is a nice fellow who is starting to know me and told me to hold on, he was finishing up something I should try. It was Kenyan Grand Cru and was my fist purchase that was still warm.

This stuff is really good and best I can say is it's pretty full bodied without sounding too dumb.

I haven't ventured much further than Caribbean and South and Central American blends before this one, but am enjoying the heck out of it.

Not sure if it's a fluke, but I also needed to adjust my grinder a touch to get it to where this wasn't packing to tight on my normal tamp that I normally do.

I'm far from scientific, but feel this stuff really did better on the #6 where I was always using 3 or 4 before.

I am still learning a great deal after a year with the Gaggia and grinder, but at least get consistantly good shots at this point.

This is IT....
What I will be striving for "consistantly good shots"
Took you a fair bit of time and work to get to where you're at.

Congrats to you.

Still warm? Awesome!
We come close, right from our roaster straight out.
Once it sits around waiting for a sale, well...you know the drill....LOL.

Your beans always impress.

BTW, I took a closer look at their bins and they are wooden with a plexiglass window on the lid.

I forget who asked about them, but I paid better attention this last trip.
