Coolest thing I've seen in a while....

So I take my daughter to a local farm that has a huge corn maze and rides etc, etc. This was cool in itself,

....but then I hear as we are ready to leave that the "Pumpkin Cannon" is going to go off. Watch the video. I thought it was pretty cool.

Those are really popular here. There is even one place with a pumpkin trebuche. Some are hand crank, some are propane, some are fired with explosives.

The show "Little People, Big World" (or something like that) is filmed here and they've shown the canon that that family built on a past show.

It's more impressive in person because you see the pumpkin going in the chamber and watch it go into the sky completely out of sight.

THe eccentric Farmer also had a pig race and he named one of them "Hillary."
"I asked him why Hillary?"
He said "Because she always runs to the left"
Funny guy.

No, guy is clearly Amish....but I didn't know they had artillery either.

I like it but two questions:

1) Why the hell???? :r:r
2) Who gets hit with the receiving end?

Nope I don't think he's Amish as not only would he not have the tech to build one of these things I am pretty sure he had a cell phone on him during the pig race with Hillary.
1) Why the hell?
First, Why not?, second there a contest with these things. Not my personal goal to have one but fun to watch. I have a feeling he's just bored and thought that this was cool thing to do.

2) Who gets hit with the receiving end?
Someone asked "Where does it land?" he said they had a bazillion acres of pumpkin fields out there.
