newpipe

Pimpernel Blue Briar Estate Pipe
Stem: Replaced
Bowl Mouth: Slight build up from "3 to 9" ??? what does this mean
Pipe Dimensions: 4 1/2" long x 2 1/2" tall x 1 1/4" wide
Interior Bowl Dimensions: 1 3/8 deep x 5/8" wide
Weight: 37g
Nomenclature: Pimpernel Blue, 173 ???? and this mean

I hope the steam is just like pictured that is a nice stem

Nomenclature means the name and number of the pipe. This will often be marked on the side of the shank. Never heard of the pipe before, but the stem should be the one pictured. I'm *guessing* bowl mouth is in regard to the size of the bowl. From 3 to 9 makers me think the bowl is in a cone type shape, wide at the top, tapered to the bottom.

Never heard of a Pimpernel but if you're looking to hold the cost down you can never go wrong with a Dr. Grabow...as inexpensive as they are they're actually fairly decent smokers...I usually get rid of the paper filters and put an adapter in place of it...

Dr. Grabow's (same vendor)

Re: new Estate Pipe

I would assume the bowl mouth refers to the width of the bowl, the pipe itself is teardrop in shape, so I would assume the bowl would be similar to keep a semi constant thickness on the bowl. Don't take my word on that, could be wrong.

Nomenclature is referring to the markings on the pipe itself(ie, the "Pimpernel Blue" stamp on the side of the pipe in the first picture). Most manufacturers put something to that effect on the pipe to make it known at least the series for the pipe, and typically the maker's name as well(ie, Savinelli typically does not stamp their pipes with "Savinelli" but the do stamp them with the series/line).
tl;dr, its just showing what the pipe is
