Just finished a book titled "Grandfather's Tale: The Story of a German Sniper". I bought it a few years ago thinking it was a memoir, and only recently sat down and started reading it. Turns out it's fiction...and it reads like it was written by a fifth grader.

woo-hoo!! One of my favorite books of all time. I'm going to start on "I am a strange loop" some time next month.

Lee's Lieutenants is also on my bookshelf. I bought a set from the 70s a few summers ago and love them. They are a wonderful read. Got them off here http://www.alibris.com/

The Last Stand by Nathaniel Philbrick ... a history of Custer, Sitting Bull and the Battle of the Little Big Horn. Only a couple of chapters into it and it has totally captured my attention.

okay, I'm strange and will admit it.

"A Course in Number Theory and Cryptography" by Neal Koblitz, Second Edition. Springer Verlag "Graduate Texts in Mathematics" Series.

I'm designing a graduate course that will never be taught by implementing and augmenting the major algorithms in the text with special attention to OpenSSL (which is what is used when the URL says "HTTPS"), performance, and grid computing.

I'm a geek, but my dog is better.
