Perdomo Exhibicion Maduro Review

Size: Toro (54x6)
Paired with: Don Q Anejo Rum (aged 5-8 years), neat.

Released last year, Been wanting to try this line for a while and got a 5 pack from CI about 3 weeks ago.

It's a well constructed cigar. It's a lighter shade maduro leaf. Not as dark as say Liga 9's/Undercrown. More the shade of EP Carillo Core Maduro, 601 Blue, etc. Feels good in the hand. Pre light aroma was very light. Could barely pick up anything real discernable.

First half inch has a flavorful cedar tone with leather under belly. After that the cedar subsides and it's straight leather/earth. Aroma is a soft cocoa/earthy smell. Not intense at all.

Nearing halfway, flavors haven't changed. Straight leather. This cigar also has a good amount of resting smoke, and draws in a hefty volume as well. Very nice draw

Nearing the band, flavors haven't changed much at all. Some hints of chocolate in there, but it's hints.

last portion has nicotine flavors coming in, but otherwise not much change.

This cigar is very consistent with what Perdomo offers. A well consructed, well burning, smooth drawing cigar at a reasonable price. Perdomo is not known for complexity or really "wowing" cigars. This cigar falls right in line with the rest of them. Where this cigar falls short however, is flavor intensity. The flavors were there, but were not as strong as I thought they'd be compared to other Perdomo's. It's a medium bodied smoke through and through. But the Perdomo Habano Criollo, Reserve Champagne/Oscuro/Maduro, Grand Cru and and Noir all have more intense flavors at pretty much the same price point. I would personally reach for those over this every time. So obviously they aren't box worthy for me.

This wasn't bad at all. But there are other Perdomo's that are better.

Could you please expand on what you mean by "nicotine flavors"?

Well, what I've always assessed to be the nic kick. I dunno how to explain in. But when I've told some folks I picked up a sort of tangy leather I've been told that was nic kicking in. Sorry, thats all I got lol.

Im having my second now and the flavors are a little stronger and there is more coffee present. Maybe the first one was a lemon.
