In the market for an Ashtray
I am in the market for an Ashtray. This will be my first ashtray purchase (I am relatively new to cigars). I am looking to purchase an ashtray that is unique and will last a long time. Thanks for any suggestions or ideas!

you cant really go wrong with a stinky... the only negative thing I have heard about them is that the stirrups fall off if you pick them up by it, but you can just re-attach them. |
Re: In the market for an Ashtray
Nice:hm

Re: In the market for an Ashtray
Might want to see if there is much interest as Stinky himself ran a few group buys on the other site... :ss

I love my Passion from CI. A lot cheaper at teh devil site. The cigar never moves, each is unique, easy to clean.

CAO Cubist Ashtray - I love mine! Picked it up from my B&M on special order for $39.

Re: In the market for an Ashtray
I would agree I love my stinky and I have one of the original 3 stirup ones and leave it out in the rain and snow for a few years now and have no problems at all

Re: In the market for an Ashtray
If you decide to go with a Stinky here is where I got mine:

Got one of the all chrome floor stand model Stinky's last week on a group buy. Compliments my original 3-stirrup nicely :ss

Re: In the market for an Ashtray
My favorite is my Oliva ashtray. It looks little in this pic but it's really big. They go super cheap on cbid and sometimes come with cigars...
http://duquecigars.com/images/oliva%20ash%20try.jpg I have this one, too... http://www.ilikecigars.com/ashtrays/...sary_round.png I like it but I don't really use it. Everyone else does though. :) I don't want to sound contrary, but I've never desired a stinky even though everyone loves them. I bet it'd be nice to have a couple at a herf, though. I think it's cause I'm a clean ashtray freak. I like to keep them clean because I enjoy making a mess out of them. All my ashtrays sit outside and I'm afraid a stinky would rust up pretty bad, too. Any of you guys keep your stinky outside and do they rust? I could sure use one for all the cigarette hogheads that come around here (not that they'll put their butts in it anyways, but the "wow factor" might entice them.) |
Re: In the market for an Ashtray
Stinky!
But if you seek something unique or unusual I suggest you check out your local thrift shops. You can often find nice vintage ashtrays at a decent price. |
Re: In the market for an Ashtray
Stinky.
I used to love my Tatuaje ashtray, but my stinky quickly replaced it. |
Re: In the market for an Ashtray
Me personally I prefer the CAO Cubist. Saw it once in person and kick my self for not purchasing it. Now it can't be found anywhere.

Re: In the market for an Ashtray
Id be on on a Stinky or 2 if the price is right. :ss

Re: In the market for an Ashtray
I have an Oliva that I really like. I got it as part of an Oliva sampler on cigar.com

Re: In the market for an Ashtray
This isn't my pic, but I have the Camacho ashtray picture, the wifey picked it up for me as a surprise present from the local B&M last summer. It came with its own cedar box, pretty cool tray, very heavy. It's solid as a rock.

Re: In the market for an Ashtray
Heres another vote for checking out the local thrift and antique shops.
I've found a few really cool ashtrays and usually on the cheap. I like the old ashtrays from the seventees and sixties, sort of a vintage vibe to them. Alot of these are very artfull, think sixties. |
