for car guys out there.
I got my car dyno tuned yesterday. She threw down:
286 hp / 310 tq naturally aspirated 387 hp / 460 tq on a 100 shot of nitrous. Let me know if you can tell when the nitrous kicks in. :ss http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/n...h_HPIM0695.jpg |

Re: for car guys out there.
Great numbers, dude! What year is that? I can't really see -- looks like a 99-04?
387 rwhp out of a GT's 4.6 is very impressive (and getting close to blowing it up, btw, unless you've done some major work to the internals.) You're right up there with my 03 Cobra. (396rwhp) And your 460 torque is CRAZY! |

400-450 is when they tend to go boom, but normally when they don't ahve a safe tune. this one is very safe. an engine build will be in the future though |
Re: for car guys out there.
I am not even a car guy and my jaw dropped! I too thought your car was going to rip off the dynos when the nos kicked in!
|
Re: for car guys out there.
Not bad at all for a 4.6 2 valve!
Yea you can hear the n20 pretty easy. Don't build the motor swap for an LS1 ;) lol. |
Re: for car guys out there.
that's an extremely nice jump for a 100-shot.
Pray for those piston tops and head gaskets! |
Re: for car guys out there.
Nice brother! I have an 03' that I just finally finished. Forged bottom end, head and cam work and a D1SC ProCharger. I was just starting to break her in when it started to snow here in Cleveland.
Break-in tune will only let her build to a whopping one lb. of boost for now. Looking to put down over 500 rwhp/tq, when all is said and done. Good luck and congrats, smoke one of your better sticks to celebrate. :ss |
Re: for car guys out there.
Nice numbers.:tu
Keep thinking about scrapping my warranty and putting in either a big cam or maggie myself.:D |

Re: for car guys out there.
Do you happen to have a link to the dyno sheet?
I would love to own an 03-04 Cobra. I was looking for an engine from a wreaked one to put into my '90 Tbird SuperCoupe, but for the price I could build something much better. |
Re: for car guys out there.
Oh, I know all about the internals of this machine. What you have to worry about is the connecting rods for the pistons.
The next step for the car is to stroke the block out to a 5.0, put 4V heads on it and up the shot to a 200 shot. Forged 11.5 to 1 pistons, forged h beams and cobra crank. I am looking for 400 hp na and close to 650 on the juice |

I'm waiting on an aftermarket version of the ZR1s Eaton 4-lobe - that might just sway my opinion on modding the car hard! I have twin 3 year olds and bought a 2 seater - F practical, you only live once. :D |

The Mustang has always been my dream car, and always will. When I have some money I'd like to purchase 90-91 GT as a fun little project car :D

1/4, my fastest to date is a 12.88 @ 112 but with that trap speed i should be high 11's low 12's. I just have to learn to launch better. 2+ second 60's suck |

nah. 112 should be low 12's high 11's
i have a guy that runs 11.76 while trapping 113. but he is cutting 1.64 60 ft |

Auto or 5spd? Mustangs are real easy to launch just take some practice as launching on a strip is different then the street... um so i'm told >_> You also don't have to worry about a rear grenadeing.. like I do. |

Re: for car guys out there.
Well weight plays a big factor on trap speed, as well as your 60 foot. My friends honda civic traps high 120s but is barely out of the 12s thing spins non stop, but that's what you get for being a front wheel drive car lol.
If you can drive the hell out of the car you can trap lower with a faster ET. But that's really kinda dumbed down. For example same friend on street tires traps mid 110s and ET is mid 13. While my camaro is 107 12.8 I'm out driving him, I also have RWD to help me. |
Re: for car guys out there.

The solid axle and weight advantage is in your favor compared to a Cobra, so you could probably expect consistent mid-12s, but I don't think you'll get into the 11s without considerably more HP. What're you running for tires? Do you have any traction mods? |
