I heard from Hugh but is anyone else interested in playing Fantasy Baseball this year?

If we can get 10 from the forum I will be happy to run a forum only league and if not I can help pull in additional people into a league to fill up slots.

We will see if we can make this work. I set it up as 12 team max league so 8-10 to draft.

It is similar to what we have played in the last 3 years with Head to Head but I did change the categories a little.

Hitting:
Runs/Hits/HR/Stolen Bases/Strikeouts/OPS

Pitching:
ERA/WHIP/K's per 9/Pitch Count/Quality Starts/Saves+Holds

If anything I would say send something to Adam for the troops if you would like but we will most likely be filling from outside of the board so for this year it is fun and bragging rights.

I am OK with 1 day waivers if we want them.

I changed out Wins for Quality Starts to try to take the relief pitchers blowing a lead out of the equation. Pitch Count ended up being a random category since walks are covered in WHIP along with hits. K/9 to help balance the pitching .... Saves+Holds. I set a minimum innings pitched at 40 but should it be lower or there at all with pitch count as a category?

I went back and forth on RBI and Strikeouts and ended up more on the Strikeouts counting against hitters to balance out HR.

Thoughts?

I'm alright with quality starts over wins. Not sure about pitch count and how that is a positive or negative stat. Personally I think rbi is an important stat when evaluating player worth. I think having both rbi and Ks are fine. :2

If we add in rbi then we also need another pitching category (two to be able to take out pitch count which I am not thrilled with either just something that wasn't in one of the other stats).

Don't worry about it. It will add a new way of thinking to my game. Don't need to change everything up to get one stat in.

We needed one more pitching category to balance the hitting and so it was one that wasn't included somehow in the other stats.

I am really open to suggestions on changing this one.

With the allstar game here this week we are a little over half way and so far I am struggling. It has been an interesting year for sure.

Pulled it out by the skin of my teeth! Surprised because I have been spending most of my time in the hospital with my Dad and have not been able to concentrate too much on baseball. As always, makes the season much more fun and I thank all for playing!

Looks like you hit 39 IP Dan so 1 under 40 min. I guess that took away the one point in the pitching that you had otherwise it would be a 6-6 tie.

A great matchup though to finish out the great years you both had!

I'm in. How about lowering the min IP to 35? I started all my guys the last week of the year and got shafted. I was in no way trying to cheat...

since average innings pitched by starters are going down I would say average is 6/start if that

5 starts a week would set it at 30

I am even okay with going down to 24/25 as a min and allowing people to throw less starters if we want to.

I agree that the 40 was a struggle last year.

Talked with Craig (Stan Mitka's Donuts) and he is out this year. Looks like we have 4-5 for sure so we might need to scrounge up 3-4 players if there is anyone interested.
