Re: airline question

I HATE American. The few times I have flown them the service has been awful, the flights late, and once my bags were lost. They have the worst record for lost bags and delays from what i have read.

I fly United whenever I can, but sometimes the prices are higher.

Southwest is in my opinion, the BEST as far as customer service and getting in on time.

With your attitude Perry, you would fit right in with American! :r:r:r

That was supposed to be the helo that was going to replace my current airframe it is Bells ARH the Army canned the program though so now we are still using the interim aircraft that we have been using since 1984. But back to the OPs topic.

I have flown on both and can't really say one or the other has been worse or better from my experiences.

screw the OP, the helo is more interesting, doesn't surprise me that the military scraps a better design to stay with the old what about flying the AH-1Z?

Re: airline question

The Apache replaced the Cobra (AH-1s) for the Army highly doubt the army will ever even consider bringing it back. Right now the talk is that they are going to funnel the money into upgrading our airframe to a new model with new avionics and such Possibly.

Right now for the Army our recon/light attack/CAS platform is the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior.

This is what I fly

For Deep/Heavy attack it is the AH-64D Apache

Lift Helos are the UH-60 Blackhawk And the CH-47 Chinook for heavy lift

Not to be an Army Warrant all you need to apply is 20/50 correctable to 20/20 then once you finish flight school it can go to 20/100 as long as it will correct to 20/20. And the Army finally approved LASIK for pilots so soon I will not be wearing my glasses anymore.

Yep the Army will pay for the surgery as long as you meet the prerequisites and are willing to wait on the list. Or you can pay for it as long as it is from an approved physician. Long process involved to get on the list as well. Took me about 2 years and still looking at about 6-12 months till I actually get the operation.

Too funny....I had zero idea that United and American are partner airlines. And I have had nothing but positive experiences on American, and almost unanimously crappy experiences with United, so go figure.

Road trip. I would drive. It may be tiring, but the trip is half the fun.

Re: airline question

American flies to all the places I go in the Carribean and South America, so I have been stuck with them for years and their partner TAM Brazilian Airlines.

I have never had any problems with them.

Re: airline question

I've had problems with both of them and none of the "budget" airlines.

Heck I've only been "happy" with Air Tran.

That's why they make xanax and alcohol for white knucklers,,,,as soon as I pass the TSA strip and full body cavity search section of the airport I run to the nearest bar and start anesthesia procedures immediately. By the time I get into my seat I could be on a bus to Sheboygen for all I care. By the time I land the anesthesia is wearing off and I'm good to go. Flying made easy!!

Re: airline question

Hahhahha, that's awesome Gary.

Fellas, they're not partners....and they both suck...BUT, I'd say American is the lesser of the two evils. I fly American all the time for the miles; try to be loyal so I can rack up a bunch and use them to fly somewhere on Vaca but the freakin' rewards are never available.

This past August on a recent Pittsburgh/NY biz trip on American, I had a total of over 20 hours of delays (including delays on ALL of my flights and 9 hours on one leg, six of which were on the freakin' plane & they lost our bags for a day).

Still, I stick to American in hopes that I'll eventually be able to use the frequent flyer miles. I even rack up AA miles on my charge cards, with hotel stays, anything I can.

I wish Virgin flew more places. I've heard they rock.
