Best Looking Cigar Bands / Boxes
While I agree you can't always judge a book by it's cover, life is too short to smoke ugly looking cigars. And besides, it's the cover that makes you read the damn book.
Post up your favorite cigar bands or packages that make your humidor look completely badass. My personal favorites from my collection so far are Gurkha 125th and anything boxed up by Illusione. http://www.casasfumando.com/wp-conte...hchildes_2.jpg |

idk what it is about the rothchiles but the band makes me think of a championship belt... ... and they are pretty f-ing tasty also... :tu |
Re: Best Looking Cigar Bands / Boxes
No picture, but Diamond Crown Maximus, La Sirena, Ave Maria, and Ashton ESG/VSG come to mind when I think of aesthetically pleasing bands.

Re: Best Looking Cigar Bands / Boxes
Cohiba BHK54.. bad ass presentation for sure.

I must say the San Cristobal line from Ashton has some really nice looking bands. A lot of art in those bands/boxes.

Re: Best Looking Cigar Bands / Boxes
Cohiba band, their cardboard packaging and tubos are the best designs IMO.

Re: Best Looking Cigar Bands / Boxes
I love the new Romacraft bands. Simple yet refined. Liga Privada #9's are my favorite bands. Love the illusiones rothschilds bands also.

But I understand the point of your thread... from my stash, the box/packaging that I like the best is this: http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...artagasJar.jpg |
Re: Best Looking Cigar Bands / Boxes
While this isn't in my personal collection (but please, I invite anybody to change that), I find this to be one of the most beautiful presentations about there for cigars. I know it's technically a humidor, but it's how they come, so it counts :)

These are really nice in person, photos don't do them justice. http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5c69d75d.jpg and of course the Behike band http://www.habanos.com/images/app/ex...er%20Plano.jpg |
Re: Best Looking Cigar Bands / Boxes
Seriously? I smoke cigars for flavor not paper. Many cigars I smoke have no bands at all.
But if we're talking presentation. I think these boxes would be near the top for. :sh Please dont bomb me! :po http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...yclosedpt3.jpg http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...ityopenov7.jpg |

Keep it on topic gents and take it to PM. If we're talking box presentation, I think the Tat monster series are some of the coolest in recent years.

I think the metal bands on the Macanudo Vintage 2006's are pretty sweet. Also the CAO Black boxes are pretty sweet

The Ave Maria band is probably my favorite.

Re: Best Looking Cigar Bands / Boxes
No uber expensive ghurka boxes yet? Wtf guys?
Jk jk. I like the Oliva boxes. That red is so pretty. |
Re: Best Looking Cigar Bands / Boxes
I am with senor dvickery. Nothing is quite like RyJ for box art, although Sancho Panza has really nice color schemes and patterns...too bad his face ruins the presentation!
As for the whole package including bands, there's something about the understated elegance of Davidoff. This one has a yellow sticker, so it must have been PSP. http://cubancigarwebsite.com/images/...g_9321full.jpg |

Re: Best Looking Cigar Bands / Boxes
I like a lot of the artistic bands, but I think El Centurion is pretty sharp.

Re: Best Looking Cigar Bands / Boxes
I'm going to chime in on this... If you take 100% of cigar smokers, only about 20% of those are social media active. This includes cigar forums, cigar review blogs, twitter, facebook, instagram. By active I am stating those who actively seek out cigars.
When a new cigar comes out the 80% of consumers look to advertising or presentation to try a cigar for the first time. So the band, and box art plays a huge role on enticing people to try a cigar for the first time. The cigar itself will determine if they come back or not. Quote:

Re: Best Looking Cigar Bands / Boxes
I have to agree with Adam, Montecristo, Upmann, Partagas, RyJ, and HDM, (CC's) all have boring plain bands and they are my favorite Marcas and to not have smoked them because they don't have flashy bands and come in cardboard boxes doesn't make any sense since they are some if the best cigars around and are truly classics!! And as Bob said a lot of cigars I smoke like custom rolls don't even have bands! And if you prefer NC's everyone will point a newbie in the direction of Fuente and Padron (thousand series) which have boring Cubanesque style bands and they are great beginner smokes, at a great price point!

Like this thread. Luscious rustic art, a grand cigar band and a sturdy box on Pinolero and Pinolero Maduro by AJ Fernandez. The maduros are delicious, but be patient. ROTB they have a sharp tang that mellows after a few months. |
Re: Best Looking Cigar Bands / Boxes
Comment on cigar bands, I have a small gripe about certain brands and their bands. Even though I really enjoy Illisione and Tatuaje cigars I would like some description of the cigar on the band. I might 'win' a few lots on the devil site, by the time they arrive, and acclimate for a few months I've down right forgotten just what the heck I was bidding on while drinking too much months earlier!
Just my little gripe, I do think the Montecristo's CC band looks pretty sharp with the gold inlay trim stuff. Besides Por Larranaga may be the best looking. |

I picked up a ten'er of Double Edmundos. The band had a little gold trim I had not noticed before, of course maybe I had not noticed either.

Re: Best Looking Cigar Bands / Boxes
Montes came out with a new band this past year

Re: Best Looking Cigar Bands / Boxes

Re: Best Looking Cigar Bands / Boxes
Probably because you smoke cigars with a little age! Here's a pic of the Monte petite No 2
