I agree and I also look forward to the poster they put out every year with all those ratings on it . Kind of nice to see what I haven't had on there . :ss

Ever since Bruce Willis' daughter was voted as one of the most beautiful women in the world last year by some magazine I have become suspicious of this ranking! :)

I don't agree with everything the do there BUT I don't think I have ever disagreed with their rankings of what the top cigars are each year.

Padron 26's, FF Opus X, and others have deserved it.

Has anyone posted a review on this yet? I'll have to go back and double check.

I haven't bought a CA mag for a long time though I did enjoy looking through them and they usually had a good interview with someone. It was also a good starting point for the learning process. Just from what I remember I wouldn't disagree with everything they put at the top of the reviews and they are usually premiums and top CC's. So I'll be interested in seeing what they put up this year.

I guess there are also reasons why I no long subscribe to them, too. ;)

I don't agree with #6. I have a box and had one this past weekend. Meh. I've certainly had much better cigars this year.

Also, there is no way they couldn't tell what the Chisel was, even unbanded. Same goes for the Padron 80th. Both have distinctive looks IMO. I'm not saying they aren't good smokes, but this just seems off.

How do you suggest CA do a blind taste test? Without including those cigars? I don't think you can blame CA for the recognizable shape of the cigars.

Not saying their ratings are perfect or impartial, just saying I think some are being too hard on them.

I don't completely buy that it's all up to advertising dollars, I think it has something to do with it but not all.

There are LOTS of cigars that are rated in the top 25 that don't even advertise with them. Plus all the cigars in there are damn good and deserving.

What's the story on the casa magna? Who makes it? This is a surprise as they usually reserve #1 for an expensive premium or Cuban cigar and give stuff like casa magna a token spot in the teens if they want to reward advertising or whatever.

It's a Nicaraguan puro made by Nestor Plasencia for Manuel Quesada (MATASA). Never even heard of it until a few days ago!

There are only a handful or so that I would even think about smoking. The list gets worse every year.
