What Flavor Profile Do You Prefer in a Pop Tart?

Please explain your logic as well as your love for Pop Tarts, maybe detailing your first Pop Tart experience, and how Pop Tarts have changed not only your life, but the course of humankind.

Do you like them toasted or untoasted? With or without frosting?

I checked my copy of The Authoritative Pop Tart Guide by Turd Ferguson, and it said that I'm supposed to like the one called "azzberry". I don't see that flavor on your list tough.

I'm trying to find a toaster that will toast them in -30f. What should I get?

Re: What Flavor Profile Do You Prefer in a Pop Tart?

Frosted Kitty Litter all the way!

Given the inconsistencies in the heating elements when exposed to typical South Florida humidity, coupled with our higher temperatures, I prefer the half time one side, half time the other side method for toasting.

Thanks to Andy, I too learned of this method via the recommendations he came across during his "what do I do and how do I do it but more importantly, when do I do it" explorations in life.

WTF?!?!?!? Mom said there was only one kind - strawberry - and that those stupid commercials were lying.

Hog, this guy seemed to do pretty well with unfrosted...

Since they don't make a maduro flavored one...gotta go with the blueberry, although the Raspberry and Brown Sugar Cinnamon are tight up there. Has to be frosted, toasted, and a dab of butter on top. :dr :dr Damnit Tom...now I gotta run and grab some. :D

I bet astronauts also love Pop Tarts. :r :r

Yes, but how long do you let them sit before you eat one? Do they get better with age?

Frosted, Toasted Strawberry or Frosted, Toasted Brown Sugar. As for the rest of what you asked ... I suffer from CRS, so I have no answers... :sh

Can I change my vote? Plus they have to be toasted with on half stick of real butter per 2 pop tarts. Yummy

Brown Sugar and Cinnamon. All time favorite since I was a kid. I enjoy the fruit flavors here and there..

I never toast them.. I am not even sure I had any pop tart toasted.

Strawberry Frosted, toasted, at a around 72-73% humidity. I like to pretend it's the same as having a serving of fruit, as well as a serving of 'icing'.

According to Turd Ferguson's The Authoritative Pop Tart Guide , on page 92, it states that "You must remove the wrapper, because it makes them more better." I worship Turd. He's a pop-tart god, you knows, so we must obey.

BTW,
While Turd Furgenson may be an authoritative figure on this subject and I do bow to his writings also, Mike Fahey makes some interesting observations.
No wonder my dogs love them.

I subscribe to the Poptart Rule of 3's
3 days in the pantry to stabilize the Poptarts after their trip home from the store
3 minutes in the toaster to make them nice and hot.
3 seconds on my plate for the filling to cool and age before I shovel them into my face.

You don't freeze them first to minimize infestations?
For me:
3 days in the freezer, followed by 3 days in the fridge, followed by 3 days in the pantry. All highly recommended by Furgenson.

Thats pretty risky. Its a well know fact in the Pop tart community that if freezing isn't done right it could result in the crust splitting open while eating. Especially when you get into the last 3rd of the Pop tart. I prefer to play it safe and store them in a cool dry place under the temp that infestations may occur. :2

Strawberry - unfrosted. We only buy Pop Tarts when we are going camping. Ever since my kids were little it's always been a "treat" for camping. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, they could have them anytime they wanted when we were camping.

I have frankly never experienced that as I maintain the fridge at precisely 37.2547 degrees, which I have read is ideal for the interim process from freezer to pantry.

I don't think I saw this all time party favorite listed in the poll.

Or this other favorite.

And who can forget this classic second only to Kitty Litter.
