Who uses Xikar humidification products?
that requires their soultion.......................
|
Re: Who uses Xikar humidification products?
I don't think there are any products that absolutely require their own brand's solution... :2
|
Re: Who uses Xikar humidification products?
Ok then, let me rephrase this. Who uses Xikar solution?
|
Re: Who uses Xikar humidification products?

Re: Who uses Xikar humidification products?
I didn't know that Xikar had a gel humidification system.
|
Re: Who uses Xikar humidification products?
My buddy uses it.. tried to get me on it.. Told him the water has been working fine for a year for me.

Re: Who uses Xikar humidification products?
Do you really need the solution? Most people I know just use distilled water to recharge their thingies (I don't know the right term since I use active humidification in my dinky humidor).

Re: Who uses Xikar humidification products?
This thread is hilarious.

Re: Who uses Xikar humidification products?
As Mark stated, distilled water is your friend. They say you have to use their solution so your tied to just their product but you don't have to.

Re: Who uses Xikar humidification products?
So no one here uses this stuff?
I guess it doesn't really surprise me. Beads are the way to go after all. |

There is a line I draw and common sense comes into play so the question to your answer is no, I would not buy a ton of cigars from Thompsons. WoW I am trying to gift something away here to someone that can use it. Guess thats how I am gonna get treated for trying to be a good BOTL.:td |
Re: Who uses Xikar humidification products?
Did you see what happened there?
No? Neither did I |
Re: Who uses Xikar humidification products?
He probably wanted to give it away since he has no use for it. I'm just guessing here.

a) if your trusted mechanic tells you something, o.k. But any mechanic who is trying to sell you stuff? Sorry. b) not sure what "common sense" you are referring to here c) Sorry my ESP is in the repair shop so I could not read your mind that you were wanting to give something away. |
Re: Who uses Xikar humidification products?
All jokes aside, if you were trying to give something away as a good gesture to another BOTL then you could have written something to the following:
FTGH: bottle of Xikar solution Not looking for anything in return just I have no need for it and thought another BOTL could use it. |

Good idea Jay. And post it in the WTS sub-forum (price is $0). People offer to give stuff away there all the time. |

I have only used Distilled water in mine. Worked great.
|
Re: Who uses Xikar humidification products?
I used one bottle, but found no difference between the xikar and distilled water
|
Re: Who uses Xikar humidification products?
The board is on it tonight, but yeah I never noticed a difference between the solution and regular distilled water either=\
|
Re: Who uses Xikar humidification products?
I do not use Xikar humidification products or the solution to go with said products. :sad

Re: Who uses Xikar humidification products?
I have a gel puck and use distiller water. I bought two bottles of the 50/50 as I dove in head first a few years ago. I used a quarter of a bottle.
I use beads for my humidors now. I still use the gel for a storage bin of boxes along with excess beads. I haven't had problems with it. I only had small issues with regulation when I used it in my first humidor. It would spike above 70% on the warmer days. Good product, but there are better. |
Re: Who uses Xikar humidification products?
I use grizzly bear piss. Gives them an earthy taste I adore.
|
Re: Who uses Xikar humidification products?
Xikar has really nice gel pucks. They're clear plastic and have different sized holes. Saw them on Amazon and damn near bought one just so I could throw the goo away and put beads in it.
Smitty, I have a 5 gallon jug of food grade 100% PG solution in the attic in the garage. I've been trying to give it away for years. I finally decided I'm gonna keep it forever. Do you have one of those puck things I mentioned? I'd take one of those off your hands. :tu |

Re: Who uses Xikar humidification products?
I'm laughing so hard my spleen's hurting.
This could be in one of MCS's banter threads. Never understood why someone would want to spend that much money on PG when distiller water costs $1.00 per gallon and does the same job. |

I have thought of putting beads in it as well but it's a little big to throw in my humi. |
