Night full of disappointment with an Opus X and a drunk guy

Well, I got married yesterday. My fiancee is in the Coast Guard, and her duty section had a party to celebrate with us.

I've had an Opus X in my humidor for 6 months, and I hadn't tried an Opus before. Needless to say, I was very excited to light the bad boy up.

I lit her up on the back patio, in a nice quiet area. One of her coworkers was hammered, ran outside, said Tobacco was bad and smashed it out of my hand. I didn't scream or cry somehow, and managed to pick it up. The ENTIRE wrapper was so cracked, it came off.

So now my first Opus is destroyed, and to top it off, it was too sweet for me. Not even a fan of the Opus. WTF hahah

Although, maybe we're missing something. If he would have got in a physical altercation with someone that threw a party for His wife and him, it could have ended up badly. Possibly ended with a fight of another kind :td

It sucks that you lost such a pricey stick....

At least it wasn't the almighty king of MSRP. The one. The only. Gurkha HMR :D

That deserves an immediate punch to the teeth...would have just been reaction for me. Hell I would have lit him up on a $1 stick.

I should clarify. It wasn't that he was a treehugger or anything. He was just kidding around, and didn't realize what he was doing. Hell, he was outside smoking. I'm not a super violent person, and if I had hit him, I'd be at the house trying to find my teeth. He would've kicked my ass easily haha.

Congrats on getting hitched.

Sometimes, you just have to smile and laugh it off... Years from now, you probably wont remember the cigar.

It was just about at the 1/3 left mark. So it could've been a lot worse.

Would you like to give the Opus another shot since that one was ruined prematurely? Pm me your addy and I'll send you one.

Congratulations on your betrothal. And there'll be other cigars, even other Opus'...but my God, I would have done something stupid in your place. Very stupid.

Just chalk that up to the one hiccup in your marriage. No cigar is worth hitting someone over, but he'd have known that he ****ed up.

Thank you. :lr

At least it was a cigar, at my wedding my (now ex) wife's brother, one of my groomsmen (and 25 years old) decided it would be a good time to settle a 10 year old (mistaken) grudge against a 60 year old man and beat him so badly he was hospitalized for a week. I had my Brother In Law and my Mother In Law's boyfriend (who also participated) arrested and charged with felonies.

I should have taken that as a sign of where the marriage was heading.

think of it this way...in 35 years you will vividly remember this event (and your wedding)...much better than if you had smoked a cigar alone and uneventfully and just returned to the party.

on an unrelated note:the irish have such great parties/events/weddings/funerals...whatever.

congrats

Man, I just don't know about this, what gives this a-hole the right to preach to you about the evils of tobacco and to slap it out of your hand......oh yeah he was drunk.....well like the rest I wouldn't have been so cool, It may not have come down to fisticuffs, but I would have made him feel small for his actions. Sorry this happened, but congrats on the marriage.
