So I've heard it thru the grapevine that these are being discontinued. Does anyone know if this is true or not. I've noticed several retailers lowering prices on these to get rid of them for some reason and was wondering if I need to stock up. Not that I need a reason. Just wanna make sure I have enough if they quit making them. :tu

I have heard that too and seems to be the case as my local literally has been blowing these out. Sad as these are fantastic smokes but I guess sales may have plummeted since the whole My Father line was launched. Most of their ad dollars go toward the My Father lines and the original blends have almost been orphaned. I still enjoy the JJs and the Blues although the original Blues(old band) IMO were much better than the newer ones(new band). I too am curious to see how it plays out as I am a little confused why they just recently tweaked the band if they were just going to drop the line anyway. Next time I see the rep I will see if I can get an honest answer out of him.:D

Is it just local B&Ms selling these out or is there online retailers with a clearance price? I haven't seen any significant price drops in the sites that I buy from. These are a favorite of mine and it would be sad to see them dc'd.

I'll keep watching for a couple cheap boxes, as well.
The 07's and '08's were spectacular. Once they got popular, they suffered a bit. Still an excellent smoke. I just picked up a box on cbid for around 79 bucks recently.

I got a box of Blue Imperiales for $65 when I got the JJ's. It was a good week. :D
A couple weeks after Holt's(?) had a sale and I bought two boxes of Camacho Triple Maduros under $100 each. I'm thinking they were $79?
Here's where Holt's Closeouts are listed. When they blow stuff out, they mean business. Usually it's crap, but not always. You just have to check every now and again. :tu

Beli's are $114 at Atlantic and Sublimes are $134.
$134 for Beli's is robbery. I used to pay $235 for them, and they were worth every dime. :tu
For my money, the Beli's are the best of all of them.

The JJ Maduro's are discontinued. They are saving the wrapper for the Jamie Garcia line. There are still thousands of them out there, I have been stocking up on them for awhile.

I'm sure someone will blow these out after awhile. I'll probably lay back a couple more boxes, myself. I just did a quickie audit and I probably have enough to last forever, but I'd like one more box of Beli's. They seem to age best and develop caramel goodness the best.

Of the old ones I put back, there's a big difference between the sublimes and beli's. Both are excellent, but the Beli's and Torps are way better than the robusto sublimes. Personally I think the Beli's are best, Scott (sofaman) thinks the torps are best.
I used to smoke these things at an outrageous clip and they still stand as one of my all-time favorites. When you get one that's truly "on", you can't find a better maduro, padrons, anejo's and Oliva blue bands included.
If I had to pick the best cigar I've ever had of those 4 I mentioned, and I've had a lot that brought tears to my eyes they were so good, the best was one I smoked around 2008 at Scott's house one night while we were watching a ball game.
He'll agree. It's one of the best cigars either of us have ever smoked. For real. :tu

That's awesome Scott. I'm relatively new to them so I like hearing how they have aged. And a smoke is always better when it's tied to a good memory with a good friend. Thanks for sharing brother.

This news saddens me. While I've never afforded myself the luxury of buying a box of them I have bought several 5 and 10 packs and love them. Hopefully I can find some on sale in the near future.

They put a new band on the JJs, not long ago.
Why do they drop the good lines for unknown
new lines?

Wow, your much better than me. I normally just order and hope that either A) She's not home when the UPS man arrives or B) If she does notice that she is too preoccupied to realize what's going on. Not that she would really break my chops but she does keep a mental tally for when I break her chops about how much she spent while out shopping for clothes, shoes etc. She will usually fire back with " I don't bust your chops for all the cigars you bought this month" or my favorite " At least I will use these things on a regular basis, you have enough cigars inside to last you the rest of your life and half will just sit there for at least a year or two before you smoke them." Clearly she doesn't appreciate what a little age can do for a cigar.:r Now that I wrote this all out I have come to the realization that I am my own worst enemy and should just learn to shut the f*ck up when she goes on her little shopping sprees.:r:sl

I talked to a guy at Atlantic and according to him they may be getting JJ Maduros as an exclusive! Same prices as listed. That would be a very cool deal indeed.

Atlantic pretty much has an exclusive already at the price they are selling them. You'd have to be goofy to buy 'em elsewhere. I searched every site that I know of and they are about half the price of anyone else.

Smoked a JJ Maddie lancero this weekend, very tasty!
Paid $10 for it though, with the tight draw it had it wasn't worth that much.
I hope I can snag a box of these before they are gone, chances are it won't happen.

I was going to but it only has ten sticks and they are the DPG lancero sampler with only two of each DPG lanceros in it. I took the two JJs and left the rest. I grabbed the FFPs instead. I am a lancero whore but those FFPs are just so damn good.

Edit: I just read the only way to get those JJ lanceros was in the DPG lancero collection box that was released in 2007.

I only grabbed the JJ maddies, the rest are still there!
