Anyone pick up battlefield 3? What system?

I got it and am loving it. Haven't played any of the multiplayer because I need to renew my XBL Gold account.

Xplay said the single player campaign was pretty lackluster, but multiplayer is where it's at apparently.

I've played campain and multiplayer. Multiplayer is better for the fact your playing against live people and can squad up with specific missions.

The campaign isn't terrible, but your not going to stand up and applause when you finish it. It's just another generic story in the same vein as the CODs. Entertaining enough though. Multiplayer is really where BF shines though, I really wouldn't suggest this game if your not going to play online.

I keep waiting to hear people say "Origin (PC) is getting better!" before I buy it.

So...probably won't be buying this one :(

I having been playing the 360 multi online. I play only FPS games and favor all the MW and Black ops games the best because of the fast action. Game is fun but a few complaints would be it is very hard when you are going up against guys with red dots and lasers and your stuck with screen hogging iron sights. The second complaint is spawn points. Most of the time if you spawn with a team member you end up being shot right away. The base spawn points are miles away from the action. Why not somewhere in the middle?
The best part about this game for me was my friend only like the solo stuff and there are two discs. One for multi and solo. So i used his disc and he uses the solo. I am glad because I will not be playing this game in few days when MW3 is released.

I played may e 20 minutes of the single player and it was ok.

I've always like bf more than the cod games just for the fact that you can actually work with your team to complete a mission. Cod is more run and gun which is fun but to me gets boring a little quicker.

Then again I actually love both games so when cod comes out it's down to who wants to play what.

IMHO it's gonna be 2 great games (assuming cod hold true which it should)

The single player is pretty terrible. So cookie cutter, you HAVE to go where it wants you to and you HAVE to do what it wants you too. :td

I never did like the Battlefield games much though.

Maybe the multiplayer is great but I'd pass on this one :2

Origin kinda sucks. I had to download it to play the Alpha and Beta but I ended up buying the game itself of Xbox. It's crap compared to steam :td

Yep. And seeing the screen grabs from chatting with their "SUPPORT" is just painful. Usually the support rep side steps your questions for about 15 minutes and then disconnects. I can't bring myself to deal with that kind of crap.

How are the servers (XBOX)? I'm thinking about buying BF3 but know that the BFBC2 servers have been crap for the last couple of months on Live, just wondering if anyone has has problems connecting to games or not. Thanks.

I have tricked out my M249 SAW with a Thermal scope/heavy barrel /foregrip/extended clip and I'm quite deadly with it. :D

Ok.. I admit it. I'm 54, and Friday I play BF3 till 2:15 am, and Saturday till 4 am (well, 3 am after the clock rolled back)

Playing with friends the time just flies by.

XBOX gt : COTA flyboy1957 if anyone wants to send me an FR.

As to the game, finished the campaign and it had it's moments but the end was like "Thats it?????"

After the release problems MP had gotten pretty good.

I picked up the game the other day. Like it a lot! The helicopters are definitely a bit harder to fly, used to be pretty good in BFBC2 but still trying to master them in BF3.

I'm thinking I'm going to pick up this and MW3 for PS3 (which by the way, I'd be up for a trade/buy if you're looking to sell). I haven't played since the first MW and had the first Battlefield when it came out, but nothing since.

Shopping around, you're looking at around $60 new + tax if you buy locally. On ebay, I see quite a few that can be purchased for $50-52 range and claim to be "brand new". What is the market like on these games being copies? Some of these people claim "brand new", yet no case or booklet. Some are "sealed", but I'm just worried about getting something and then not being able to play it online.

i dont know about ebay...... i know for xbox each game comes with a online code to play and i would be worried that the code that comes with the game is already in use.

if you check amazon you might get a similar deal if not a couple bucks more and rest a little easier that at least you know were its coming from.

I've had bf3 since the day it came out. I found the campaign to get boring and have been playing the multi-player since. Work has been busy and I'm basicly working 7 days a week, but I play on xbox when I can. If you guys are on and looking to team up shoot me an invite. Gamer tag bitternutz
