Devanmc's Case build
 

I figured I'd keep a thread to update with pictures for Devan on his case build. This was supposed to be a gift for him, but he decided to fill it up when he sent it to me and floored me with his generosity.

I plan to have this done and back to him in time for the shack herf....I HOPE!!

Anyway, since I know you're looking forward to it Devan, here's the first pic for you.

Initial fitting of lower case spanish cedar lining. 3/8" stock, milled to fit under the case lip, and relieved for the latches:

That exactly how I feel. With the Christmas gift of unwrapping something awesome part.

Nah I don't want to do that, not my house or anything. Besides still 3 more business days of possible work and shipping Monday. Could get it by shack, so there is still hope. :r

So as I dig a little deeper into this project, a vision is starting to form in my little pea-brain. I wish I had a few weeks to devote to this, but I have til Monday, so I best get crackin! Here's a bit more for Devan:

Yeah, it'll hold 60 when I'm done with it. 30 big long un's and 30 in the 6 1/2" range or more I suppose if there's some little short ones. I'll finish the other 3 trays tomorrow and move on to all the crap I want to do in the top half of the case.

Right now.........I need a beer and a cigar! Been a damn long day and I'm tired. Just so happens I have one of those Maduro beer's in the fridge calling my name. Now let's see if I can find a maduro cigar to go with it! :tu
