Your fallback cigar
I was curious as to what everyones fall back cigar is. The cigar that is always on for you, that you can always rely on to deliver. This would be the cigar that you would reach for if you are just looking for a good smoke. $1.00 a piece or $100 a piece it doesn't matter.
Personally, I am a fan of Perdomo Lot 23 maduros. Not alot of complexity, but good flavors, great for a morning smoke with a coffee and a good book to get lost in. I am also big on the Sancho Panza Double Maduro La Mancha. Really no complexity, but in the 5 years I have been smoking I have never had a bad one. At $1.50 a piece they can even fall into the mulcher if you brush it with a branch and you won't be too disappointed. (oops) And one that I am sure is on alot of peoples lists is the JdN Antano 1970, lanceros for me are the jackpot. So what do you grab when you know you just want a good cigar? |

Re: Your fallback cigar
Montecristo Especial never fails to deliver for me. Excellent flavor profile and develops a real depth and complexity when properly aged.
Always a good go-to cigar  |
Re: Your fallback cigar
Arturo Fuente Hemmingway. Classic, best seller, short story - whichever. A delicious and consistent cigar...I use it as a benchmark :tu

I have more than one -- just depends upon what is in my humi at the time: Cohiba Siglo II, any Padron, Montecristo Petite Edmundo, RASS, or AF Hemingway Short Story.

Re: Your fallback cigar
Either a Perdomo2 Maduro or an Oliva G Maduro.
|
Re: Your fallback cigar
Padron 64 Monarca Maduro or 26 #6 maduro. If I'm smoking a bunch of different stuff and hit a bunch of duds and I'm in dire need of a "can't miss", either of those will work.

For me, one cigar that is excellent everytime is the Bolivar Petit Corona or (Coronas Junior, either one).
And now I have NONE!!!...................................Thanks, Slayer. |
Re: Your fallback cigar
If I absolutely want to be satified, I'm smoking an Opus X. It has never let me down even during periods when the taste in my mouth was not cooperating (anyone ever get, what I call, yuckmouth?). If conditions are right, then I'm smoking a SCdlH Mercaderes. :dr
PS: Oh...great. Now I have the uncontrollable urge to go smoke one NOW!! Thanks a lot. :D |

Re: Your fallback cigar
BRC's, HUCM, SCdlH El Principe, Boli PC, PSD4 and Cohiba Lanceros. Hell even a "not on" CoLa still > 95% of all other sticks out there.
For NC's Viaje Exclusivos always were good for me, I like the Oliva V Lanceros as well. My father Lanceros.....Any Lancero. |

The one cigar that has never disappointed me is the Partagas PC Especiales. Of all the smokes I enjoy, this one is the most rock like consistent.
Honorable mention goes to the Shorts and Boli PCs. |

Love these things. Consistently good and a great value. |
Re: Your fallback cigar
I always go back to one of the first premium cigars I bought, the Don Carlos #3. I love the toothy wrappers and the amazing flavors that I get from this cigar.

Re: Your fallback cigar
Siboney Reserve
601 Oscuro Tronco DPG Blue Generosos Hard to determine from fall back and one that people like so much they smoke alot. I wouldn't consider a RASS a fallback for me, becuase I don't stock them regularly. So ones I can keep stocked at a low price are what a fallback is to me. Everything else is just naming consistent cigars that I would always smoke. |
Re: Your fallback cigar
Partagas 898.

Re: Your fallback cigar
DPG blue. I don't think I've smoked any more of another cigar and I've only had 1 that I wasn't really happy with. It was probably me, not the cigar.
