Cigar Etiquette

While I am with other cigar smokers frequently people ask to share someone's cutter, which is no problem. But, a peeve of mine is when I see a smoker place their cigar in their mouth to wet it before using someones or my cutter for their cigar. I know we are brothers but not that close of a brother, that's just gross not to mention unsanitary.

Re: Cigar Etiquette

I agree, I would not have a problem with asking for it back. If they cant respect this, then they dont need my cutter!!!!

at least they don't place the cutter in their mouth to wet it. :dr

Whiskey is alcohol so it kills germs.

Of course, because it's always my own :r

Yeah not a fan of the wetting the cigar before cutting it. I see plenty of people do it.

But using a B&M cutter.......I wouldn't trust just anyones saliva. I see people doing the exact same thing all day long. I bring my own punch.

I think it would depend on who it was

I don't forget my cutter (or lighter) often, but it has happened... Rushing from work or from the house trying to get to a herf and sometimes I forget to grab something. This is particularly a problem if I have to grab everytthing in the morning when I go to work for a herf in the afternoon. Yes, I am old... :)

markem 05-24-2011 06:23 PM

Re: Cigar Etiquette

Because I can, I lick the blade on my cutter and the outside of my lighter before I go to any herf.

Usually I do too. In fact I usually have more than one cutter and more than one lighter on me. Plus I have a cutter and ligher in my backpack that I take to work.

Still there have been a couple of times where I have had sticks and no lighther or cutter. I did manage to improvise... :D

Re: Cigar Etiquette

You won't let them use your cutter but you touched the handle on the door when you walked in and possibly handled money. :r

I never go anywhere without three lighters, two cutters and at least 15 cigars. That's the truth!

Re: Cigar Etiquette

my two cents, this is a huge pet peeve of mine also.

I was beginning to think I was alone I HATE the lick the cigar then cut it.

I love to share sticks but I DO NOT puff puff pass. I'll give you the whole stick. I don't care how amazing it is I don't want to try a puff.

I hope you all stand up when you cut your cigar so you don't get any tobacco on your skirts.

It's easier to clean tobacco crumbs off my Kilt as opposed to man drool on my cutter... :2
