2011 NFL Draft.
Anyone got anything? This year is SO up in the air about it ALL, with the lockout, and no clear #1 (plus, Carolina saying they'll take one of 4 players).
I can't even begin to think about who the Vikes will take. They have several glaring weaknesses to address. QB, LT, DL, WR, DB Obviously, the crapshoot that occurs before them will have a huge bearing on who they'll take, and what need will be able to be filled best. |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft.
Atlanta is supposedly trying to trade up so they can get into position (currently 27th) to pick up A.J. Green or Julio Jones...thats the only rumor I've heard

Re: 2011 NFL Draft.
My guess, because of no free-agency or college free agents allowing to get signed, there will be a lot of movement in the first three round as teams to fill needs with the draft. Probably going to see 7 or 8 QB's taken in the first two rounds by teams that need them, because no one knows where the free-agent QB's will land when all is said and done. Lots of trade-bait players, but none of them can move with no CBA either. :tu
I'm most interested to see if Newton goes #1 and see if he ends up like Russell, Palmer or Manning. I think he ends up like Russell. How bad is it for Clausen that the Panthers are likely taking a 1st round QB one year removed from him? :hm |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft.
It will be interesting to see who the Bengals take. The moronic Mike Brown has always f'ed up the draft somehow. See: Peter Warrick, Akili Smith, entire '05 draft, Ki-Jana Carter, Andre Smith, etc.

Re: 2011 NFL Draft.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say the Bengals and Raiders will have a bad draft. ;)

I'm a Pats fan and every year I see Them trade down. I hope this year they trade up but I doubt it. If they stand pat I wouldn't mind seeing them get Ingram and 2 de/lb with their first 3 picks. But I'm sure Bill will trade 1 of the picks for next years....

Every year I have hope for the Bills, and every year they keep showing why they are irrelevant in the NFL. I wouldn't be surprised to see them go Long Snapper at #3 tonight

Newton goes #1 to Carolina, and Locker goes to TN at 8. Albert, enjoy the amazing offense you'll have next year, with drafting Jones to go with the WR core you already have. |

Have you ever seen anyone as disinterested in being picked as Nick Fairley? We all sat watching in the lunchroom at work, and each one of us basically said "What a tool". :2

Re: 2011 NFL Draft.
Once again B.B. Trades down..... They needed a pass rush and couldve traded up a cpl spots and got Quin. Instead they take Solder, who could be awesome. Then at 28, instead of taking Ingram, who I really thought could bring a whole new dimension to the offense to help Brady, they trade it to the Saints, who in turn draft Ingram. Now they have the first pick in tomorrows draft and I'm sure they will trade out.....

What do you expect from the Pats? It's all about VALUE. :td

I was suprised he took someone at 17. We do need offensive lineman so this guy from Colorado must be good for Bill to actually use a first round pick. |

I'm guessing that you're feeling about that pick like I am about the Vikes passing on Fairley with the issues they are going to have up the middle with the crumbling of the Williams Wall. :( He'd have been a GREAT fit next to Kevin Williams. Now we have to block him AND Suh on the same line. :( |

I just pray they get a starting OLB, starting CB, and at least a backup OT. They could use a WR, but not an expensive one. Just need some speed on the outside so they can put Burleson in the slot. |

Re: 2011 NFL Draft.
I just don't get it with BB, The first pick a O linemen yeah that's ok.
Then he picks a corner that has been getting hurt since high school, hell he pulled a hamie at the combine. We have seen to many of guys like this. Next two picks. Two slow non elusive running backs, one will be lucky to make the team? A QB pocket passer just as slow as Brady with character and personality issues. I'm not feeling good about this draft. How a bout a freakin pass rusher? |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft.
Nice pick by the Bengals getting Dalton :tu
|
Re: 2011 NFL Draft.
As a Saints backer, I hope Ingram stays healthy. I hate to watch great running backs play for us. Cringe, cringe, cringe.
Other than that we look solid in what we got. Locker was a good pickup for the Titans which I am forced to watch far too often. Hope the Bengals are happy with AJ Green. I am not getting the picture, so I did not see Fairley's fairly poor attitude. But those Auburn kids, what are you gonna do? Sorry I will not get to watch Patrick Peterson play much football. West coast stuff. Enjoy that WC guys. |

Re: 2011 NFL Draft.
I'm also confused with the Pats picks. Why waste 2 picks on RB's in second and third rounds. You could have kept the first round pick and took an every down back with Ingram and then used the other picks on defense. Haven't we also drafted a DB I'm the first or second round the past 5 years. All I know is, when free agents can be signed, they better go after one of the premier defensive player.

I understand your concerns, but I think Mallet will be a very good NFL QB. I saw him at Michigan and that kid has a heck of an arm, prototypical size, and is very sharp mentally. Being able to work behind Brady won't hurt either. For my hometown Lions, I am a bit confused. DT Fairley I liked, but a WR Titus Young and a bull of a RB Leshoure do fill needs, but not as needs as pressing as some holes on defense (CB & OLB). We'll see how it works out. |
