Jack Daniels

I'm not trying to start a debate! Everyone has their taste, but I just can't help but comment on what I personally think is the BEST from the Jack Daniel's family... SINGLE BARREL JACK! :tu

Even the bottle has a nice style to it!

Is there anyone else who has the same feelings as I?

Mike

i'm definitely a Jack guy. Keep a bottle of No. 7 and Single Barrel on hand at all times. The best thing that i like about single barrel is that everyone is just a little different.
Just found out that J.D. is coming out with a Honey based Jack. Don't know how I feel about that. I have an Even Williams Honey and it's very sweet. I'll have to get one and see.

I just had the Tennessee Honey on Thursday and I loved it. Straight up with some ice is how I had it and it was really good.

Went all over town...stuff isn't out here yet. But I did pick up some Evan Williams Honey Reserve and some Wild Turkey American Honey. Had some Evan this evening and this stuff is so smooth it's dangerous. :dr :dr :dr

I tried the American Honey and didn't really care for it. The Tennessee Honey on the other hand has WOWED me. I'm hooked.

I haven't had the single barrel yet (more of a bourbon guy) but that said, I love Gentleman Jack. Not a fan of the regular Jack.

I just find it too sweet. I have to cut it with regular whiskey to be able to drink it straight

The Gentleman Jack is also my favorite. Couple of pieces of ice and a nice tumbler is all I need to enjoy it.

Of the JD line I like the SB the best no question. The Single Barrel bottlings do taste very different from the regular or the Gentleman Jack though...

Got a nip of JD honey yesterday and I think that it's so much better than the Evan William's. Just a hint of the honey so it's still whiskey, where I think that the honey taste is too over powering in the Evan's.

I found the Honey to be a little "thick" if that makes any sense. Didnt like it at all. I do love the Single Barrel JD though!

So did a little searching and found that I was right, I had a JD No. 7 cigar. This website is actaully pretty cool to scroal through and see all the lighters and such that can be had.

The only one I've opened so far is the Evan Williams...like Tbone said, not a big drinker here.

Never had it!! I had a JD Gold way back in the day, haven't seen it again. Should have saved the bottle.

~ Silver Select ~

Jack Daniel's also produces a Silver Select (pictured below) brand of Single Barrel. It is not sold in the U.S. and is bottled at 100 proof. I've copied below the description on the back of the box.

"Jack Daniel's Silver Select Single Barrel Tennessee Whiskey returns to the simplest days of the distiller's art when whiskey was crafted and sold by the barrel, each with its own individual taste. Each barrel of this select 100 proof whiskey is aged in a unique location within the warehouse where the whiskey's color and taste mature an extra measure. Because Silver Select is a single barrel whiskey, bottles drawn from individual barrels offer subtle differences in nose. color and taste. To mark its distinctive character, each bottle is hand-labeled with its rick and barrel number and its individual bottling date. It is a single barrel with a singular taste that could only be crafted by the Jack Daniel Distillery."

JD Single barrel is great stuff and definetly the best from JD. I am more of a bourbon guy myself, but the JD single barrel is fine by me!

It's sold over here, not even that expensive (less than 50 euro a bottle). Never had it though.

I saw a great interview last night with Angelo Lucchesi and it was fantastic. The stories that man can tell about the JDW!
