I can't believe that I spent about 35 minutes trying to research this company before I realized that a newbie got over on us. Lets hope that he has some solid contributions in the future.:D

Lets say that you weren't having us all research sausage

An old thread at CF and another at Club Stogie suggests there may have been such a company in the late 90s. Not a whole lot posted about them but it was suggested they used aromatic cedar. Not good. It was suggested that instead get an Aristocrat

I have one that my printer is sitting on in my office. Not sure if it was modeled after the old style ice box units (do a picture search for "antique oak ice box").

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Jun-19-02 AT 03:58 PM (CDT)]Agreed that Bob Staebells units are nice, and so are Arlin Liss's units. Noting that you said you didnt want to spend 4 digits on a unit, you may want to consider an Elite or Elite II from Jonathan Thomas I have an Elite (now used for storage of knick-nack-crap) since I had a large wall unit made for me by a friend.
You can see the Elite (499.00) & Elite II (575.00) at:
http://www.onlinehumidors.com/humidors_jt.htm

***keep in mind that the base price does NOT include spanish cedar. They use a cheaper aromatic cedar (bad bad) that has "aired out" they say. I got mine lined with spanish cedar.

At least this gives you an option keep it within your budget.

I'm an IT professional and I can't really recall seeing documentation in all caps. Just seems odd to me.

Re: What ever happen to the jonathan humidor company?

Going back to the old days (pre computer communications), all of our classified communications for transmission by the comm system was done in all caps. Our teletype machines in the Marine Corps only had all caps keyboards at that time.
