Please don't drive tired
Like the thread says don't do it. I work long hours as many of you do, and last night it nearly cost my family the ultimate price. This used to an F-150 Lariat Crew Cab. I remember opening my eyes long enough to see the tree, then whoever found me called 911. I woke up at some point to see a fire truck, fire rescue, and 4 patrol cars. And yes the tree is in better shape then i am right now, but i was lucky enough walk away from this. (although i'm assuming it was actually caried away but i really don't know) If anyone can see the engine or axles let me know, the front wheels are only there as fancy cinder blocks.

I'd say to go buy some lottery tickets but it looks like you cashed yours last night. Maybe it's all that good karma for taking care of the troops. |

Wow, you are very lucky. Glad you're okay.

Re: Please don't drive tired

Re: Please don't drive tired
When you first texted the pic, I thought you were kidding. Scared the bejeezus outta' me, brother. Goes without saying that I'm glad you're OK. Time to put a cot in the restaurant.

Re: Please don't drive tired
Glad to hear you're ok Richard. At least you walked away and only killed your truck.
I did something similar back in 94 or 95, except it involved CA-18 and a big rock, glad I didn't take anyone out and that I didn't miss the rock. If I had, they probably would have found what was left of me about 1000ft down the side of the mountain. If you ever feel that you want to talk about what you just went through, shoot me a PM with your phone number. |

|
Re: Please don't drive tired
Praise God you are okay!!!

Re: Please don't drive tired
Glad to hear your ok. Looks like the cabin stayed pretty well intact and kept you protected. I have seen my share of MVAs into trees and not many vehicles fair that well. I'm just glad to see you were driving a large vehicle as the smaller cars never fair so well and to get the occupants out usually require cutting of of Doors, roofs and sometimes dash board lifts and the injuries tend to be extensive.
Give the family a big hug! Again, I'm glad your ok and able to log on and tell us the tale. |
Re: Please don't drive tired
Man I am glad you are okay. I am always worried this is going to happen to me on the way to school. I am sorry it probably cost you a bunch of money with having to buy a new car but I am glad you are still alive.

Re: Please don't drive tired
¡Puta mierda, Ricardo! Glad you are ok, the tree usually wins in these situations! And, glad you were in a big car, if you were driving what the greens want, you wouldn't have started this thread!
All it takes is a moment! You'll be very sore for a week, hopefully after that you'll be good to go! |
