My ex called me earlier to tell me my stepdaughter's Senior Pics turned out so well that they're posted at the photographer's blog.
It took me awhile to figure out where they were because Kelly isn't very computer savvy and not the greatest of communicators. :)

I've been blessed with two daughters who are easily the most beautiful women in the world, and who have defined my life.
Sarah graduates this year and plans to end up in NYC. I have no idea what she plans to do when she gets there, but it's been calling her for what seems like forever. She's been there a couple times and loves it.
I've gone with her and it makes me want to climb up to the top of a building to see where the hell I am. It makes me miss the sun.

I was kinda hoping life will take some of the piss and vinegar out of her, she's tough. A few lumps oughta soften her up.

Sarah's only had two real boyfriends all along the way. She's mean.
She's actually not talking to me right now cause it's my turn in the barrel, she didn't like something I said.
It's how she rolls.
I texted her and told her how gorgeous her pics were and told her I loved her. She carries a resentment like no person I've ever known, so I was shocked when I got a reply. Hopefully we're headed for a relationship upswing, although it's only been a couple months since she hasn't talked to me.
Oh yeah, forgot. She came to see me in the hospital cause she had to borrow my car. I suppose we're already on the relationship upswing and I just wasn't paying attention.
It's a tough game to follow. :)

My daughters are blessed with their mom's latin gene pool and not my ugly ones. I always play the country song about the guy coming to date her and I'll be home cleaning my gun waiting for them to get back.

I'd imagine you have similar stories with such a beautiful daughter unless you're much more liberal than me.:cb

Very nice photo she's a beatiful girl you should be a very proud papa. I find myself thinking about the future a lot since we've had a child. I don't know how parents with older kids cope with them leaving the nest. I know it has to be done (that's life). Mine is only 8 and it's amazing how much time, money, pleasure and worry goes into raising a child. Then one day they head out on their own. The circle of life.

I'm sure she'll do fine in NYC. She sounds like she can take care of herself, but if anyone gives her any flack you just let me know. I've got uncles there that will give them a good old Italian thumping. :bx

Scott, when the intruder (just kidding, great kid) who married my daughter showed up for their first date, I was sitting in the den sharpening broadheads in preparation of deer season opening the next morning. It was just a fortunate coincidence but Kathy was pissed for a while. Eventually they do grow out of being 18 and things improve.:ss

Tom, I have a 12 year old daughter that just started dating. She and I have an agreement that I meet all her "boyfriends" before she's allowed to go anywhere with them.
I've developed a little talk where I explain to the young man how precious my daughter is to me, that I expect them to respect her and keep her safe while she's with them. among other things.
I finish that little speech up with "So long as you understand what I'm asking, you and I won't have any problems. You don't us to have any problems with me, do you?"
Sometimes they shiver when I say that. The ones that shiver don't see a second date, because Rebekah doesn't dig pussies. :)
She thinks it's a hoot and we have a lot of fun with it.
News travels fast among the kids, and I've already been marked as an insane person, so it's all good.
I figured this time around I'd get all the work done early and it'd be a lot easier because Rebekah is a lot different than Sarah. Rebekah's boy crazy and Sarah was (and still is) mostly indifferent.

I always thought this girl-raising thing would be fraught with worry, but it's honestly never been. Teach them how to handle a gun early and let them know they're boss and they take care of themselves nicely.
I'm gonna love them no matter what, so I've never worried about "what they're gonna do". I don't care if they club a whole herd of baby seals, it just doesn't matter. They're still my babies. :)

All I have to worry about now is Rebekah. We shilala's tend to get naked and party a bit. Can't help it, it's in our blood. We tend to get thrown in jail from time to time, too.
If I can keep her distracted for a half dozen more years maybe she'll not follow the shilala destiny. All I can do is cross my fingers. :)

I taught my (now 14) year old daughter how to throw a punch a while back. It's gotten to the point where I do not let her hit me in the arm anymore because she pretty much cripples me after 3 or 4 shots. And her 16 year-old brother doesn't mess with her either.
