Ronson Jetlite

Where can you find these other than at Walmart? Both of the Walmart Supercenter's where I live don't have them, infact they don't carry any Ronson products, not even the butane.

Re: Ronson Jetlite

The drug stores near me carry them but walmart by me does not. If you can't find them shoot me your addy and I'll send one out

Re: Ronson Jetlite

I'll hit you up if I cannot find one locally. I am looking for one to gift to my father who I recently send down the slippery slope, he has been lighting his cigars with a bic lighter, which is fine I guess, but he has problems on the golf course. I was gonna gift him a lighter and spare can of my vector butane.

Awesome! Let me know. Another great option if you or he has an old zippo is the z-plus insert. I think the are around $10 and the one I have has been with me since 2006 and works every time .

I've never heard of these...Albert please enlighten me :r

Another option Derrick is the $2.50 torches on dealextreme.com

Shipping is slow but worth the wait.

No zippo's here, but thanks for pointing that out, a little knowledge never hurts.

Check Rite-Aid as well if you have them

We don't have any Rite Aid's but I just went to 3 Walgreens, 2 gas stations, and 2 B&M's here in town and had no luck finding any torch lighters... one of the B&M's only carries bics and zippos... the other was sold out but said they had never heard of the ronson jetlite.

Never heard of Ronson?! If you go to amazon you can search for Jetline lighters. They can be purchased under twenty dollars and have free shipping....Might be worth the investment because it sounds like you are racking up a gas bill ;)

Re: Ronson Jetlite

I'm not going to pay 20 dollars for a torch lighter if they can be had from other members of these boards for less than half that. Free shipping or not, that is way overpriced.

I suppose I didn't look myself, but I asked the lady at the counter, she gave me a blank stare and said that she didn't know what they were.

I guess it's worth a shot to go back to both of them and take a peek myself. After all, Walmart's employee's have never been the brightest ones out of the bunch.

Re: Ronson Jetlite

FYI - Not all wal-marts carry the Jetlites. It seems to be regional/district based in some manner, or possibly by individual store.

Easy there, slugger...

Have a look:
http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trk...All-Categories

Lots of options. One was $6.99 with free shipping.

The buy it now or best offer 12 pack on the eeeeBay can usually be had for $40.

That's what I paid last year. 12 last a looooong time. :D

Thanks for pointing that out. Free shipping too. I think I'll just go this route.

I just got home from the Walmart nearest me and the lady at the counter said exactly what T.G said. Not all stores carry the same items.

I have bought the 12 pack counter displays a few times off of FleaBay. I don't remember exactly, but it was always around 2-2.50 a lighter. I hope it helps!!

It's the tone in which your post came across that made you sound pissy. I was not the only one who noticed it and it's not the first time you have taken that condescending approach in threads. I figured it was your MO. ;)

Trishields gifted me a few of these almost two years back. They were better lighters than my much more expensive lighter. Great lighter for the buck. I don't see a reason to ever buy more expensive lighters.

What kind of problems? I thought that Ronson fuel had a lot of impurities in it.

I have only had two Ronsons crap out on me and both were when I was using only Vector fuel in them. Then I read somewhere that you should only use Ronson fuel in them. Since I started using it I have never had one fail.

I can't explain it and it may be a fluke... but it is my experience. I keep one bottle of Ronson fuel just for them and Vector for my more expensive lighters. YMMV!!

That's odd... I guess we will see what happens when I get mine. I use Vector fuel as well.

How long did they last on Vector fuel?

I put McDonalds ketchup on a Carl's Jr./Hardee's burger once.

The burger rejected it. Dumped it all down the front of my shirt when I went to bite. :(

A couple/few months each. With Ronson fuel... I don't know... I haven't had one fail. The oldest is probably a couple of years old.

Re: Ronson Jetlite

While I love my Ronson, allow me to toss in a tidbit after the many lighters I've had.

You get what you pay for. The Ronson will last for a while, then one of the many problems that plague them (hinge wears out, clicker dies, valve doesn't control fuel flow anymore, or they get too gummed up) will rear it's ugly head. Most of my JetLites lasted about 6 months, at which point they started to fail. Granted, I used them daily (so often I had to fill them at least once a day, sometimes more).

In the end, my original PB-207 and my XiKar Element are the only two torch lighters I have owned and used for more than two years. I've got a vector nearing that, but the Blazer still holds a permanent place in my heart.

You get what you pay for.

I agree 100% and I think the Blazer is a really well made lighter. I use tools everyday in my line of work, never do I buy cheap tools... they wear out, don't do as expected, dangerous etc. The Ronson for me is a stop-gap, extra lighter which @ $4 was hard to pass by.

I have 3 Jet Lites that I've had for over a year and a half. I carry one, have a spare in the golf bag, and one at home. When one runs dry, I refill and rotate them.

I don't see the problem with a cheap lighter wearing out in 6 months... It barely cost you anything. Just get another one and keep on going. I guarantee that your 40 dollar lighter would wear out long before you went thru 40 dollars of Ronson Jetlites.
