I'm going to be a DAD!!!
 

Well, my fiance has been sick for a few days; all during the day, night, morning... it don't matter. She went to her "female" Doctor on Thursday and came home and dropped the news to me that she is about 6weeks pregnant!!! So I'm going to be a Dad....:eek:...... WOW............ I am still very overwhelmed by the whole deal and I don't think it has sat in my head quite yet!

This is going to be both of our first child. So its going to be a wonderful experience!


Here is the kicker...... We live in a small 950sq ft house. 2 Bedroom 1 Bath. The 2nd bedroom is our "hobby" room. It has 2 computers, my Vino, fishing poles, clothes, 2 6ftx3ft bookcases full of books/magazines, and her jewelry making bs. We have barely enough room for us!



Now, I am planning on enclosing my carport and adding on about 400sq ft more "living space" onto the house. The new addition will be our 'hobbyroom/ den/ lounge/ mancave". I have gotten the OK to buy a residential type smoke eater and can smoke cigars in it. It will have heat/ac, cable, power, etc... and a half bath.

The original hobby room will be the baby's room then.



WOW this is all overwhelming right now..... The rest of 2010 shall be very VERY interesting!!

Congrats, we had our first this year, he is 7 weeks yesterday... It is the most wonder thing in the world when they hand you the baby for the first time. I will tell you the baby never keeps you from smiling but it can be frustrating at times, especially when he is hungry...LOL just like his dad.... good luck bro and congrats again... O one more thing, take tons and tons of pics for yourself, my son like i said is allready 7 weeks old and it seems like yesterday he poped out...lol have fun

Update

Went to the Code Enforcement office today to check into permits. They told me since my wall will be within 7ft of the property line that I have to go infront of the town's planning commission meeting in September and produce plans and drawings to wether they approve it for building my addidtion or not.....

Great!!! This is a small setback, but hopefully we can overcome this and get the addition built and the room ready for the newborn.

Congrats Brotha. We have our first coming in November. We couldn't be anymore excited.
My wife wasn't too bad with the rushing to get the nursery ready but since finding out what the sex was last week she has been on fire. I went from knowing in the back of my mind that I would have to paint the room that is to become the nursery and get baby furniture to now replacing the carpet in the only two rooms downstairs with carpet, finally paint the foyer and stairwell and landing upstairs, convert the living room to a play room which includes building a window seat in the bay window, building a shelving system for the one wall in that room and now we are no longer going with a solid paint color in the nursery and now I am installing chair rail with one color up top and stripes in the lower portion. So be prepared. It may seem all calm at first but eventually she will start cracking the whip on you.:r Coingrats again.

Went to the first Ultrasound and we had originally thought she was 7weeks along........ Boy were we wrong!!! She is 9weeks and a day!! They gave her a due date of March 2nd.

Everything looked OK.
Strong heartbeat, everything is forming how it should, and I am getting to feal more like a Dad, now that I have seen some proof. Even know the "proof" looked like a little peanut with four bumps on it!!!

Fatherhood is one of the greatest things in the world. It's got it's up days, and it's down, and you will lose sleep, but it's all worth it.
Just make sure you don't get puked in when you fail to properly burp your little one! (Yes, I did say puked in...not on, in.)

Congratulations! Being a dad will forever change you. I have a 3 year old son Alexander and a 3 week old son, Ashton (named before I got into cigars). It's a whole different kind of fun now.

Update

Well, today I went to the city to see about permits to enclose my carport for the additional space......
My house & addition has to be at 15ft above sea level.......... right now its maybe 5ft.... Itd cost me $350 to have an engineer with a fancyass GPS tell me its 5ft, put it on paper, and sign it. Then hand that $350 piece of paper to the city zoning commission for them to tell me it has to be raised up about 10ft to meet new flood plain elevation requirements. To raise my house up 10ft and add the addition would cost me more than I am paying for the house after 30years + interest!

WOW what a way to spend my day off........... I need a cigar......
I think i'm going to work on my pipe rack idea in my carport.... and have a few drinks.

She is 18wks and a day along.

Baby is healthy from the ultrasound.


Now I am in the process of getting a permit to build a 12x12 shed in my back yard. It will be my mancave/smokeshack.
