Get the Dvd's and watch it a second time. I picked up tons of nuances in the writing and acting when I saw it again in sequence. Truly incredible!

Actually there were no plans to renew it. David Simon meant to end it after the fifth season. Mined all the material he could.

Just started for the 2nd time through...it's amazing that despite knowing whats going to happen next, I'm just as excited for each new episode.

I love The Wire. Fantastic show.

I never bought the DVDs, but fortunately HBO OnDemand recently started from the beginning and I am watching the series straight through again. The beginning of the third season starts tomorrow or the next day.

My wife and I just finished it a few months ago. We rented all the dvds through netflix. It was a great show. It was intense too - if we watched it before bed, I'd frequently dream about it.

Third season is definitely my favorite. Most of my friends outside of here are 4th season fans, but it seems like folks here know what's up!

One of the best shows and the most underrated and underwatched show on TV. Bought the complete series and couldn't believe how good it was. Top notch acting,writing, and directing. Am loving Simon's Treme right now!

Nice, a Wire thread. Love this show I've seen all 5 seasons twice. Kinda glad they ended it at season 5 and didn't "sopranos" it with a terrible 6th season.

I thought the final season was the worst of the series and wish they had done a better job(not sure what, just better) with the finale

Still haven't watched the last season yet, I binged hard a month back and watched the first 4, but haven't had too much spare time recently, and I don't want to watch one episode a day, I'd rather wait until I can watch the whole season in two days :tu
