Hard to say Goodbye

When you build things with your own 2 hands from scratch its one of the most gratifying feelings when it all comes together and turns out the way you envisioned. The down side to what I do is I have to take those items and send them off when completed. Every now and then it gets really hard and this is one of those times. As long as it took me to get these shipped to Ed, he probably thought I was going to keep them.

Well they are packed snug as a bug in a rug and sitting in a cold dark truck right now instead of in my cooler. Soon they will be in their new home.

That's the only thing that keeps me shipping, I always have more to work on :tu
The Wenge is funny wood to work with the grain is very deep but seals up nice.
Working on some photos so look for some next week.

Wow...those are absolutely stunning! Do you mind me asking how much it cost to commission something like that? If you don't want to post it you could PM me...I'd seriously consider something like that in the future.

I know how you feel brother. It kills me to ship Humidors that I've made with my finest woods. Then I look at my special stash of woods I have set aside for my own humi project and wonder when I'll get to build it.

Beautiful job on those trays. Cocobolo is one of my favorite woods. It makes great wood hinges too. A+ my friend.

That set shipped was just under $250.

I have a pile too :( I just never get to it. I have plans to do so many things and there is always something else that needs done.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone.

After seeing pictures of the cocobolo trays I am so happy that I chose cocobolo as the wood of choice for the double order of trays (for my vinotemps) that I ordered from you!
The trays look amazing Chuck!
Definitely the right choice!
I can't wait to get them.

And that's why I ordered the Edgestar, then the trays from Chuck. Couldn't afford a custom, hand built humidor, but I went for the next best thing! Awesome work !

I hope you post pics. I will be ordering drawers soon and I was leaning toward the Zebrawood. Although the Cocobolo is pretty sweet.

Ha ha ... when I clicked I was expecting to see a video of humidor/drawer construction... my fault for incorrect expectations.

How many cigars will fit in a single and double tray

By the way those drawers are beautiful. those are making me reconsider getting a edgestar over an aristocrat

Will do. I have a ton of Cocobolo wood items actually. Wanted something different. Either way, amazing stuff.

It all depends on the RG and the length. A single is right around an inch deep inside (a little less with a top) and a double is right around 3 inches deep inside. I have trays in my vino (an inch bigger than the edgestar trays) and get on average 25-30 in a single. I have a few doubles that I keep bundled cigars in for shop smoking and when it starts to run low I order 2-3 bundles. There is probably 20-30 or so left when I order so that's about 100 per drawer. I have guys reporting well over 100, but I would bet they are better at Tetris than I :D. On average I have my cigars 4 deep since I smoke more of the 40-50 RG cigars.

I tend to usually go with robusto's(5x50), toro's(6x50), and double coronas (6.5x44). So basically in these sizes each single will hold 25. How many single drawers will fit in an edgestar?. Also am I to assume that a double drawer will take up the same space as 2 single drawers?

1 single tray per slot and 1 double per 2 slots.
There are 12 slots in an edgestar 28 bottle unit to work with.
12 Singles, 6 doubles or any combo that uses 12 slots.
