St. Patricks Day

Being the devout Irish-Catholic I am, my family and I are having over 22 of our closest friends, and their families. We are cooking 4 Corned Beef's, Irish potatoes, Irish stew, Irish Soda Bread, and a plethora of other dishes. I also have two boxes of Erin Go Bragh cigars that I plan on handing out.

What are your plans for St. Pattys day?

I get off of work at noon, and have to be in at 0400 the next morning, but I dont think thats going to stop me from having copious amounts of irish beer.

And I swear, if I get pinched for not wearing green tomorrow I'll slap the snot out of somebody. The red in my beard exempts me from all that BS.

There is no such thing as "class" or "studying" on St. Patty's day. No sir. You heard it here. I'd be glad to speak with any "professor" that thinks otherwise.

I'm going to work for a half of day today and then this afternoon Beth and I will enjoy a couple of cold ones at Painter's Tavern. As the temps will be reaching 60 degrees today and sunny outside, it should be a nice day to celibrate the fine Irish holiday........ :D

nothing too exciting here, have a couple beers and a corned beef sammich at the work party, and then head home, and smoke a Candela I got from CigarFO a couple years ago.

I'm on a no booze diet until the end of April. Today has been the hardest day yet. I had a potato but other than that I am shaming my Irish heritage.

Colin, How did the plans turn out???

colinb913 03-18-2010 09:14 AM

Re: St. Patricks Day

They turned out great. We had in total 32 people show up. 17 adults and 15 kids. So I still have some erin go bragh cigars left. We had 5 corned beefs, the majority of which are gone. But enough to have sammichs still. :P We ran through a keg, and numerous packs of Guinness and Bud lime. It was a great time all around, the kids had a ball in the basement with the pool table and big screen slot machines, and pin ball. The adults were on the back deck smoking and talking, drinking and watching the big screen out there. We had a small bonfire as well on the patio. Today, I am going into school late. Great St. Pattys day!
