Your go to cigar..
What is it? I am trying to "broaden my horizons", therefore I am looking to see what everyone here likes to fall back on as a solid smoke. I personally like the Diesels, but I am out, and wanting to try something new.. Let me know!!

Re: Your go to cigar..
Right now for me these are my "go to" sticks:
Oliva V belicoso Cabaiguan Guapo Maduro 601 Green La Punta Padron Anniversary 1964 Exclusivo maduro |
Re: Your go to cigar..
It varies from time to time but my top go-to's are: (These are all strong medium to extra full strength smokes)
Padilla Miami Padilla-1932 Padilla-1968 LGC Serie R #6 LFD Double Ligero |
Re: Your go to cigar..
Go to? Hmm, that's a broad list.
Oliva V (Double Toro, Double Robusto, Lancero) Oliva Connecticut (Robusto & Lonsdale), & Oliva O (Corono & #4) Taboo HSG (Double Toro & Torpedo) DPG Black (Perla) Padron 3000 Maduro And there are others that I'd like to have as my go to smoke, but they are out of my price range. |
Re: Your go to cigar..
I like sampling many things, but when I want to sit down with a smoke I know I will enjoy I always grab a Padron Maduro. Any Padron will do.

Re: Your go to cigar..
My Go-To's are Habanos. I got RyJ Mille Fleurs and PL Panatellas, Upmann Mag. 50's or HdM Epi. # 1's for when I feel like something bigger. Anything but a Guantanamera for me and I'm happier than a pig in poo. I try to smoke the pricier stuff like Cohibas or anything EL or RE as celebratory smokes. Anything else regular production counts as a Go-to in my books.

Re: Your go to cigar..
Tatuaje Havana VI Nobles (robusto)
Pepin Cuban Classic 1952(petite corona) and 1979(robusto) San Cristobal Classico (robusto) All of these are fantastic and reasonably priced. |
Re: Your go to cigar..
Lately, it seems I don't hit the same smoke more than once a month, but if I had to pick what seems to get me most often is it's probably the Tat Havana VI Artistas.

Re: Your go to cigar..
I will either fall back on a CAO gold or a Romeoy Julieta Reserva Real. That's just me though.
|
Re: Your go to cigar..
Taboo Twist, and Oliva Series O
|
Re: Your go to cigar..
I seriously don't have one, I like lots of different sticks and am always trying new ones.:tu

Re: Your go to cigar..
I smoke a large variety over the course of a week or a month, but I find myself returning to a few inexpensive stalwarts:
Perdomo Slow-Aged Lot 826 Natural 5 Vegas Series "A" Padilla Hybrid Padilla Obsidian Arganese Presidente Maduro Tatuaje Series P DPG Fumadores |
Re: Your go to cigar..
I rarely smoke the same vitola twice in a month...the Mag 48s and RyJ Dukes have both been recent exceptions, as well as some slightly aged Bolivar PCs.
I dig variety, what can I say? |
Re: Your go to cigar..
And my shopping list grows... :p
|
Re: Your go to cigar..
Go to's would be...
Tatuaje Reserva SW Liga Privada (9 or T52) Illusione ~cg:4~ Anejo 55 & 77's Go to budgets... Diesel CAO La Traviata Brick House Tobacos Baez Serie SF |
Re: Your go to cigar..
Mine seems to change depending on my most recent inexpensive box purchases.
I can say that pretty much all of my go to sticks are the cheaper DPG blends though (Ambos Mundos No. 2s, El Rey de los Habanos, Petite Tatuajes, DPG Cuban Classic 1977s, Blue Label Lanceros, etc.). |
Re: Your go to cigar..
I loved the Diesel I had, just can't afford a box. :/
|
Re: Your go to cigar..
When it comes to nc's, I smoke Pepin blended and made cigars 99% of the time. Unless I am trying something new and that's only because it's a work requirement. :ss

Re: Your go to cigar..
My go-to cigar tends to be whatever I have the most of, when the stocks get low I order something else and try to keep the last few of the old boxes to age. That being said, I'm really digging the Partagas Mille Fleurs now (CC) as an everyday smoke that won't break the bank but has a great taste and aroma. The Montecristo Especiales and PSD4 are cigars I have a hard time keeping in stock. Damn are they tasty.

Re: Your go to cigar..
Since I throw pocket change and singles and fives into a jar on top of my dresser every night, that will become my new cigar fund.

Re: Your go to cigar..
Padron Londres
Padron 3000 Flor de Oliva Hoyo de Monterrey Dark Sumatra Don Pepin Blue and Black label.. |
Re: Your go to cigar..
Currently my go to's are Alec Bradley Maxx Nano's, Oliva V Double Robusto's and Padron 3000 maduro's on the NC side and Choix Supreme's and Rafael Gonzalez Petite Corona's on the Cuban. However I do tend to smoke a wide range.

Re: Your go to cigar..
I don't have a go to cigar. I almost never smoke the same cigar twice in a row (i.e. Tuesday and then Thursday). I love variety:banger
|
Re: Your go to cigar..
For me, it all depends what I have in stock...
When they are in stock, I grab La Riqueza Double Coronas, Tatuaje Reserva SWs, Tatuaje Cojonu 2009, Illusione ~4/2g~, and sometimes San Cristobal Monumentos.... When I am not at work...Bolivar... |

I don't have an everyday favorite cigar because I like to smoke a variety. so when you say "go to cigar" I'm thinking of something that has a very unique flavor and is dead-on consistent. In that category I would say, Padron 64s, Partagas shorts, Opus X/Anejo/Don Carlos, and even though people complain about the lack consistency on these, the Monte #4. These are the cigars I keep coming back to, because I can count on them to taste the same way every damn time I light one. |

Yeh, I am in the same boat as Tom. I would say I hardly ever smoke the same cigar twice in 6 months unless it is something I am really craving. That is what happens when you either buy too many cigars or get too many samplers. :D |

Re: Your go to cigar..
Seeing as how I'm a college student without a steady income other than my weekly allowance, I like to keep things cheap.
I've fallen in love with Olivas, be they Serie G, O, or V (yum, yum, yum!) Relatively inexpensive, but very full of body and flavor. Highly recommended. In addition, Sancho Panza's also a wonderful smoke. You can probably tell that I loves me some maduro. And I do. 'Cuz it's yummy. :) |

Aron, I am a high school student, so I know how you feel!

Re: Your go to cigar..
In that case, steal your cigars! Steal as many as you can fit in your enormous pockets!
(Please don't steal cigars) (But if you do, please send some to me) :r:r:r |

Re: Your go to cigar..
I am sorry, please explain, and I will try to clear it up for you.
Never mind. I just looked up the single Opus X and saw the price.. I didn't know that they were that expensive!!!' I am guessing that is what was confusing everyone.. |
Re: Your go to cigar..
Yeah, they're something ridiculous. I honestly wonder if they're worth the prices they command...

Re: Your go to cigar..
I think what he's saying is that he wants to smoke cheapo's regularly and is looking for reccomendations on what to buy, but is also interested in trying an Opus.
On topic, for years, I would go to the B&M once or twice a month, and pick up a fistfull of sticks, usually spending $30-$50 each time. More recently I've decided that I can keep expanding my horizons, but instead of buying 5-6 sticks I'm looking to try a couple times a month, I just buy a <$100 box every month or so. Some of my go-to sticks are: Tabacos Baez SF - Mixed filler, medium bodied with tons of flavor from Don Pepin. They run about $40 for a box of 20. Fumadores - Available only from Holts, they're another mixed filler Pepin, that are also around $40 for 20. Some other good ones to try would be Don Pepin Garcia Black, Gran Habano 3 Siglos, Gran Habano Corojo, and Tatuaje P series(White Label, though they seem to be getting harder to find) |
