Good Family Wii Games
 

We got the kids a Wii for Christmas and are looking for a few fun family games. So far we have:

Wii Sports
Wii Sports Resort
Beatles Rock Band

Any suggestions are appreciated.

My kid just got one as well and damn those games are a workout.

Mario Kart (with wheels)
New Super Mario Bros. It's up to 4 players.

I know what you mean about a workout. I played a couple games of boxing back-to-back and I was sweating afterward! :r

I feel your pain bro. My son and I play some pretty heated games of Tennis and I about passed out last night.:)

DecaSports and DecaSports 2 are pretty cool. Each has a couple of lame sports like curling, and synchronized swimming, but there's some cool stuff like snowboarding, archery, basketball, hockey, soccer, etc...
My wife got me Lego Star Wars for Christmas. The Wii version is a mashup of both LSW games. It's goofy, but fun.

Add another vote for Mario Kart, it's ridiculously addictive. The new Punch-out is pretty fun too, especially if you get the balance board.

Put me down for Mario Kart as well. The fam. wii "jogging" as I type. A video game that makes you run in place.....and we bought it. Whats next? :D

Don't know too much about it, but my step kids all got wiis for Christmas. Have played the sports one and got whipped at baseball tonight by my 10 year old grandson.

Ultimate Party Challenge (requires dance pad)

I second Super Mario Wii and Mario Kart.
Force Unleashed is a great game but not sure it's a "family" game.

Hey D, how old are the kids?

My 3 year old was gifted "Go Diego Go- Great Dinosaur Rescue" for Xmas and we cracked it open for him tonight. After a couple minutes he was progressing through the game by himself.

My daughter likes the High School Musical 3 and Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party.
I've played the DDR: HP game a couple of times. It's very challenging but the user looks ridiculous while playing.

you should also look into instaling homebrew channel on it. with orb on a pc in the house you can run it as a media center also.

Sledn bought me the Wii for our wedding anniversary. I love it! So does our son. I have thh Wii Fit Plus, love what I have played on it.

The new Super Mario Bros. My son and I just beat it yesterday. Brought out a whole new level. Great game, lots to do. Reminds me of when the original Mario came out when I was a teen. It's fun to play and yes, up to four can play on the same game at the same time.

Monopoly. Have to play this more. Played it once and it was a bit annoying. Long. If you want to sit and play it, you have to move the sensor bar close. Otherwise you have to stand.

Mario and Sonic Olympic Winter Games. Have yet to play it, but it looks awesome. Skiing, hockey, snowboarding, speed skating, bobsleigh, etc.

M&M's Adventure. My son plays this like crazy on his DS. I imagine it will be close to the same on the Wii.
