Is your cigar storage 'climate controlled'?

Refrigeration is a must in my part of the country. So, erm, yep, mine is chilled!

I have a vinotemp. So yes.:D

Re: Is your cigar storage 'climate controlled'?

I do the AC thing (as AC is included in my rent). I'd dig a Vino put keep putting it off due to a bunch of different reasons (mainly that my display humi is so damned nifty and the AC keeps the room right where it should be anyway).

Once I move from where I am and get a house, though, I will definitely be getting a Vino as it will go from a want to a need... ;)

Re: Is your cigar storage 'climate controlled'?

I had 3 humidors and a cooler, but it's too damn hot in Southern California to keep it at 70 degress so I moved them all to my Vino.

Re: Is your cigar storage 'climate controlled'?

My house may be a tad on the warm side for cigars, but I don't think I'm to the point where I want to move to a Vino. I may change my mind at some point though.

Re: Is your cigar storage 'climate controlled'?

:tpd: Yes, So Cal is too hot not to have some type of chilled unit.

I have two humis that aren’t climate controlled and one that is.

I use a Hydra for humidification, with an extra set of ventilators, but no cooling

Scottw 10-27-2008 02:33 PM

Re: Is your cigar storage 'climate controlled'?

Just a couple of humis. but the central a/c is usually around 68.

I have two 100 Ct wood humidors and a 16 bottle Vinotemp. Right now, I don't have anything in the humidors.

No temperature control in my cabinet, luckily I live in a climate where it isn't really needed :tu

Re: Is your cigar storage 'climate controlled'?

Coolers are in the basement and the room where the humis live is on the first floor (of three) and stays cool and dark most of the time.

Re: Is your cigar storage 'climate controlled'?

I have a big tower for most of my cigars which never hits above 72... but I just bought a Vino to set some aging stuff in for long term. That way I can kick the temp down a bit for better aging! :ss

Two Vino's, a humi, and a dry box.

No temp, but a large cabinet. :ss

Re: Is your cigar storage 'climate controlled'?

Nope, I just have coolers and humidors running at whatever temp my house is.

Re: Is your cigar storage 'climate controlled'?

I do both. I bought a vinotemp, but couldn't bring myself to get rid of my humidor. I keep cigars I plan on smoking soon in the humidor, but I still sometimes grab them out of the vinotemp.

Re: Is your cigar storage 'climate controlled'?

Living in So. Cal. a Vinotemp just makes sense:ss.

You always seem to be the exception Dave. :D

Got one desktop and one cooler both in the basement, humidity stays at 65-66 and temp stays at 68.

Re: Is your cigar storage 'climate controlled'?

I have two 200 count desktops, 150 qt cooler, a cabinet, and a Veno. I keep my new cigars in the veno until I get a chance to freeze them, then I don't have to worry about the temp.

Re: Is your cigar storage 'climate controlled'?

I have a couple big cooled units and a bunch of uncooled smaller ones.

4 Humidors and a cooler.

Ashcan Bill 10-28-2008 05:35 AM

Re: Is your cigar storage 'climate controlled'?

My bulk storage cabinet is humidity and temperature controlled at a constant 65/68. My little 350 desktop has active humidification only. The 100 count "death row" humi has beads only.

I have an Aristorcrat that I retrofitted with a temp control... it was just getting too warm with 100+ degree summers...

Yep.

Re: Is your cigar storage 'climate controlled'?

Being the poor college student that I am I bet you can imagine what I have, just a small 25ct humidor. Though I'm not complaining, it gets the job done for me!

Re: Is your cigar storage 'climate controlled'?

Both a Vino and a 50 ct humi.

newcigarz 10-29-2008 05:04 AM

Re: Is your cigar storage 'climate controlled'?

An Aristocrat THC-48 (temp and humidity contolled)
And a Connoisseur Cabinet from Cheaphumidors.com(just humidity)

I have a temp controlled cab and a vino for very long term aging.

50 count Thompson special...no temp control.

Vinotemp.... Have to with 110+ degree summers here in Central Cali...

Re: Is your cigar storage 'climate controlled'?

One cabinet is temp controlled, one isn't and sits in the basement at 64-65 degrees.

O-Danger 11-09-2008 02:11 PM

Re: Is your cigar storage 'climate controlled'?

One large 300ct desktop and one 75 count. I am looking to get a Vinotemp when the allowance allows but for right now this is where they are at... They are stored in the basement that never gets over 70F and is usually around 65F all year long:ss

I have a Vinotemp. It gets too damn hot in my house in the summer.

Re: Is your cigar storage 'climate controlled'?

Basement stays at 68 year round, no need for a temp controlled box when I've got a whole floor at a constant temperature.

yourchoice 11-09-2008 05:39 PM

Re: Is your cigar storage 'climate controlled'?

Not temp controlled, but I keep my cabinet humidor in my basement where it ranges from 64* to 69* year round. :ss

Re: Is your cigar storage 'climate controlled'?

Just have the standard Aristocrat. I do have a portable ac that keeps my smoking room cool when needed.

Re: Is your cigar storage 'climate controlled'?

I have a vinotemp along with regular humis

mrreindeer 11-11-2008 11:18 AM

Re: Is your cigar storage 'climate controlled'?

I put my humis & boxes in the Vino and it holds at a wonderfully steady 65/65. The only way to go in L.A. IMO.
